Scope of leadership role

Manages the production department of a plant (generally defined by a plant headcount of less than 400 employees and/or plant revenue of less than $70M) across shifts, ensuring the manufacturing of products in planned quantities, at budgeted cost, safety and of desired quality. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports. May be responsible for 2-3 smaller sites or manage one large site. Manages the production department across shifts, ensuring the manufacturing of products in planned quantities, at budgeted cost, and of desired quality. Ensures all safety procedures are followed and metrics met. Manages the most difficult problems involving the manufacturing process. Liaisons with functional or operational area managers (e.g. in supply and logistics, or sales) to understand current and future product needs and develops plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities. Provides supervision and guidance to Production Superintendents and/or Supervisors. Leads activities and projects to support continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.
