The purpose
The Software Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement of software products and services across the organization. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, vendor compliance, license optimization, and alignment with business, IT, legal, and security requirements. The position plays a key role in vendor negotiations, and contract management.
In this role, you will oversee design, development, implementation and maintaining of the global category plan and category insights by analysing historical and projected spend, contractual relationships, and industry trends.
Principal Responsibilities
Lead theprocurementlifecyclefor software, SaaS, cloudsubscriptions, and relatedservices
Develop and execute software sourcingstrategiesalignedwithorganizationalgoals
Negotiatepricing, contractterms, renewals, and service levelagreements (SLAs)
Managevendorrelationships and act as theprimarycommercialpointofcontactfor software suppliers
Partnerwith IT, Legal, Finance, Cost Management, Software Asset Management, Security, and businessstakeholderstoassessrequirements
Ensurecompliancewithlicensing, contractual obligations, and internalprocurementpolicies
Oversee software renewals, and cost-savinginitiatives
Maintainaccuraterecordsofcontracts, licenses, and procurementactivities
Monitor markettrends, emergingtechnologies, and vendor performance
Support audits and riskmanagementrelatedto software usage and procurement
What you will bring
🔍 Requirements
Skills & experience
10+ years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management with a focus on software or IT services
Strong contract negotiation and commercial acumen
Experience with SaaS, cloud platforms, and enterprise software licensing models
Knowledge of procurement best practices and compliance standards
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and cost-management abilities
Industry Specific Experience:
Experience in project and operational environments
Broad understanding of EPCM industry is a plus, and related business management requirements.
Foundational knowledge of Business Analytics is a plus.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, finance, business or related field
An advanced degree is a plus
Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM, CIRM, CPIM) is a plus
Advanced English level – fluent

Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
Agility and influencing ability, thinking ‘on your feet’ and ability to work as part of a high performing team as well as influence without authority
Capable of relating with stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of seniority
Strong collaboration skills are required to engage globally disperse virtual teams across several Information Management disciplines
Listening ability, can listen and ask questions to ensure understanding
Proven ability to gain access to and influence executives and senior managers, to assist with delivering required change outcomes.
Strong facilitation skill
