Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Application Management Manager leads a team, focusing on ensuring on-time and accurate delivery of team goals. This role coordinates with other cross-functional teams to ensure delivery. The manager collaborates, defining priorities and supervising the system development process, tracking the progress of the activities but also participates in the analysis, design and support of system solutions. The manager works closely with the Product and Quality Assurance team members to define and communicate status and results of planned work.The Manager leads a team that translates business and integration requirements into configurable web and mobile solutions. The manager is responsible of providing good technical solutions for integrated systems, maintaining direct accountability for quality and uptime of complex application running on different platforms.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Manages a team in Application Management and ensures delivery for 1 or more significant segment of work
• Ensures team delivers high quality, accurate, viable, and reliable products
• Coaches, guides, and provides mentorship to team
• Works closely with other cross-functional teams to enable team productivity
• Coordinates and supervises creation of team deliverables
• Escalates risks and resolves issues to enable team delivery
• Participates actively in the analysis, design, implementation and support activities required to build a deliverable change based on a system requirement, ensuring the product meets the expected levels of quality and performance
• Ensuring the team’s solutions comply with good practices in coding and have unit testing coverage good enough
• Responsible for leading the design and architecture of technology solutions the team provides, serving as a technical solution architect on complex project implementation
• Leads the efforts to increase the quality and robustness of the software products by promoting the implementation of software architecture best practices, innovative industry standards, and enterprise design patterns within the team
• Provides analysis and execution of high risk and complex programming tasks where specialized technical skills and deep understanding of the software solution and hardware infrastructure are required
• Ensures team follows defined process of software development methodology, version control and testing, and migration standards
• Demonstrates functionality and design solution by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
• Meets service level agreements for production support response and resolution
• Provides expert technical guidance and mentoring to others in areas of expertise
• Supports upper management and other IT teams in decision making, and provide timely and informative status report

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage 3-8 direct reports

• Excellent technical skills:
• Familiarity with front-end framework and backend development frameworks
• Solid understanding of Web applications, Web APIs, Web services and microservices development
• Software design patterns, OOP and software architecture.
• Relational database, document databases, ORM concepts
• Experience with change management tools and processes, including source code control, versioning, branching, defect tracking and release management
• Ability to identify system impact for small and large scale initiative
• Experience with global implementations of complex applications.

Experience

• 7+ years’ experience in application management or related field
• 5+ years’ experience leading through the design, development, and release cycle
• 4+ years’ experience in working through design and architecture of complex application
• 3+ years’ experience managing direct reports

Education

Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 4 years of experience with complex, multi-national application implementations
• Experience in project management
• Experience with international or multi-level marketing business
• Experience with cloud based applications
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
