Under the direction of the Research and Statistics Manager this position participates actively in the management team of Criminal Justice Analytics Bureau, including consulting with the Director, Deputy Director, Bureau Chiefs and other division and section leaders on the formulation of overall goals and objectives, policy and operational issues, and special projects. Responsible for supervision of staff and incumbent spends the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating members while planning and directing their work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Providing overall management and directions of all activities in the sub-section;
  • Consulting with section supervisors and administrative staff to resolve programmatic, administrative and operational issues and problems;
  • Assesses/analyzes and makes recommendations to resolve issues and problems within the Bureau; and
  • Acting as liaison with internal regarding criminal justice data.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least one year of supervisory, team lead, or project coordination experience.
  2. At least one year of experience in data analysis, data reporting or data management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
  • Ability to supervise people;
  • Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials;
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
  • Ability to work independently; and
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments

BASE SALARY:

  • $63,036.22

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
