About the role:
To assist with managing some of the systems labs used to develop and test such solutions, we are seeking a Lab Manager- Electrical The successful candidate will be part of the systems engineering team that is responsible for defining and testing the systems behavior for Enphase’s energy solutions. This position reports into the director of systems engineering.
What You Will Be Doing
- Manage day-to-day engineering lab operations, including space utilization, access control, security, organization, and overall lab effectiveness.
- Oversee lab equipment, hardware, and inventory management, ensuring availability of critical tools, components, spare parts, and supplies.
- Lead procurement activities, including quotations, purchase orders, vendor coordination, invoice processing, delivery tracking, and asset management.
- Drive lab maintenance activities, including equipment installation, calibration, software license renewals, and infrastructure readiness.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while maintaining certifications and company standards.
- Champion EHS initiatives, incident reporting, near-miss investigations, waste management programs, and a strong safety-first culture.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S implementation, lab optimization, and alignment of lab capabilities with product development roadmaps.
Who You Are and What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline with 12+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in lab management.
- Proven experience managing engineering laboratories and supporting the needs of multiple engineering teams in a dynamic environment.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, electrical systems (120V/240V AC), calibration processes, and engineering infrastructure management.
- Experience handling procurement processes end-to-end, including vendor coordination, purchasing, payments, and inventory control.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of driving efficient, practical solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Desired experience – the following will be a plus to have:
- • Experience with Python or similar programming languages • Understanding of energy storage, microgrid and renewable energy systems
• Hands on experience with wired and wireless communication protocols
