Job Description

The Manager, High Jewelry – Category Management is responsible for the day-to-day commercial and analytical management of a High Jewelry category. This role owns assortment range planning, pricing execution, and product lifecycle management, ensuring High Jewelry Event offerings are competitive, profitable, and operationally sound.

The role partners closely with Design, Product Development, Finance, Diamond & Gemstone Acquisition, Marketing, and Global Commercial teams to translate creative concepts into clear assortments, accurate pricing, and on-time launches. The manager is responsible for maintaining inventory health and achieving margin and brand strategy objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Assortment Analysis

  • Define and manage High Jewelry in-store and event-based assortments, aligned to sales, productivity, and strategic objectives
  • Perform regular assortment analysis by collection, classification, and price point to identify opportunities for optimization and brief newness
  • Develop presentation materials such as collection trend reports, competitive analysis, and assortment reviews for internal meetings and leadership review
  • Conduct competitive shopping and market research to identify trends and inform assortment recommendations
  • Partner with Global Commercial teams to support worldwide assortment strategies and selling opportunities

Pricing

  • Establish and maintain pricing for High Jewelry that achieves gross margin and sales objectives
  • Build and manage detailed pricing models at the carat weight, color, clarity, and stone type level to evaluate and recommend premium scenarios
  • Lead regular pricing reviews and identify opportunities for price adjustments or structural improvements
  • Manage and execute the formal price change process, including analysis, SKU-level validation, system updates, and cross-functional communication
  • Review pricing systems and tools to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Support resolution of off-cycle pricing errors or discrepancies

Lifecycle Management

  • Own ongoing lifecycle reviews, including monthly and quarterly analysis for aging inventory
  • Partner with internal teams to define and execute strategies for overstock and obsolescence management
  • Ensure accurate and timely item maintenance, reclasses, merges, and system updates

New Product Development

  • Analyze assortment performance and sales trends to support new product proposals and line planning
  • Create and maintain development tools (image grids, design charts, event plans, stone files) throughout the development lifecycle, championing data accuracy across touchpoints.
  • Monitor loose stone inventory and support stone assignment to collection styles/projects in partnership with Design, Diamond & Gemstone Acquisition, and PD
  • Coordinate cross-functional touchpoints to ensure on-time SKU creation, pricing, and overall launch readiness
  • Participate in product architecture reviews to ensure target cost, retail, and margin objectives are met
  • Support event planning and execution, including assortment positioning and readiness

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Act as a central point of contact across Design, Diamond & Gemstone Acquisition, Product Development, Demand, Finance, Commercial.
  • Lead timely, ongoing communication regarding assortment, pricing, and lifecycle updates through regular meetings, scheduled and ad-hoc distributions.
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, PR, and Education teams to validate product selections, accuracy of talking points, and launch materials
  • Collaborate with Global Commercial to support and maximize impact of marketing initiatives, product placements, and media/press needs through accurate and relevant product recommendations
  • Coordinate timing and execution of price changes and assortment updates with internal partners

Staff Management

  • Manage staff, help to set clear priorities, championing a culture of executional excellence and ensuring high standards of accuracy
  • Provide coaching & feedback, support team members’ ongoing professional growth and complete formal performance evaluations in alignment with company guidelines
  • Ensure team adoption of new systems, tools, and processes, and support training & development opportunities.
  • Support the Director in executing departmental initiatives and cross-functional projects

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in merchandising, category management, or analytical roles, ideally within luxury, jewelry, or complex product categories
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and interpret detailed pricing models
  • High attention to detail and fluency in the creative process.
  • Strong organizational, communication and written skills are critical to partner effectively across functions
  • Must be comfortable managing multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lead and develop staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with High Jewelry and/or experience managing high-value product and complex development timelines

The hiring range for this position ranges from $122,485 - $150,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience.
