Manager - Health, Safety and Environment
The Manager – Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) will be responsible for overseeing health, safety and environmental practices across the organisation, with a particular focus on MEP installation, testing and commissioning activities.
The role involves developing and implementing HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, monitoring regulatory compliance and promoting a strong safety culture across project sites. The Manager – HSE will play a key role in minimising workplace hazards, ensuring safe working practices and maintaining compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures specific to MEP installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- • Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs) for MEP works, including electrical installations, HVAC systems, piping and plumbing.
- • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, permit-to-work systems and approved method statements.
- • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and compliance checks across all MEP operations.
- • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, prepare reports and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- • Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe working practices across all MEP teams.
- • Coordinate emergency response procedures, fire safety measures and evacuation drills.
- • Liaise with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities on HSE matters relating to MEP works.
- • Promote a strong safety culture through awareness programmes, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration or a related field.
- Candidates with prior service in the Army or Police will be given preference.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in HSE and/or administrative roles.
- At least two years’ experience in an Assistant HSE Manager, HSE Manager or similar supervisory position.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk management principles and safe working practices.
- Experience in implementing and maintaining safety management systems.
- Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project teams, clients, consultants and regulatory authorities.
