Operations division's task is to execute Finnair's flight operations safely, economically and in a reliable manner. In Finnair Ground Operations, we work for securing safe and smooth ground services for our customers and aircraft in all airports Finnair is flying to. Our top priority is uncompromised operational safety at all times. On top of safe operations, operational efficiency and customer experience are the key ingredients for our success.

We are now looking for a

MANAGER, GROUND SERVICE DELIVERY

to strengthen our global Finnair Ground Operations - Ground Service Delivery team.

Finnair’s headquarters are located in Vantaa, Finland; however, this position is based in Melbourne, Australia. The role is primarily remote, but it will require occasional travel and presence at Melbourne Airport.

In this position you have a great chance to contribute to Finnair success through:

  • Ensuring ground service readiness for Finnair customers and aircraft.

  • Leading and managing ground handling suppliers and
    airport companies at the nominated airports to deliver targeted outcomes in areas of; safety, compliance, cost control, operational performance and overall customer experience.

  • Driving selected development topics within the area of Ground Service Delivery.

  • Managerial responsibility of selected global Finnair airport service managers.

To be successful in this position, you have a strong experience and proven track record in:

  • Working with various internal & external stakeholders.

  • Service procurement, vendor management, operational performance management and cost management.

  • Leadership of complex entities.

  • Working within airport ecosystem.

  • People leadership.

  • Strong self-leadership, proactivity, and result orientation.

  • Responsible and self-driven working attitude.

  • Understanding of ground handling business and related authority regulations as well as respective agreements.

In addition, you most likely possess the following:

  • Solid collaboration and interpersonal skills in different organizational levels.

  • Number and data literacy, ability to lead through performance data.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent English, both written and spoken. Other languages are considered an advantage.

  • Positive attitude to continuously learn, develop and improve.

  • Capability to combine strategic direction with operative implementation.

The employee must have all the legal rights to reside and work in Australia.
