Job Description

General Accounting & Financial Close

  • Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
  • Review and approve journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, payroll, stock compensation, and expense-related postings.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and internal controls.

Balance Sheet Reconciliation & Controls

  • Oversee balance sheet and subledger reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Drive analysis and remediation of aged items, abnormal balances, and recurring issues.
  • Monitor and manage accruals, prepayments, amortizations, and other key balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and review quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis.

Audit, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and internal control frameworks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits.
  • Partner with auditors and stakeholders to address audit findings and strengthen control effectiveness.
  • Maintain a robust governance framework across all accounting processes.

Third-Party Provider Management

  • Lead and govern outsourced accounting service providers to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Monitor performance against established KPIs, SLAs, and operational objectives.
  • Drive service improvements and manage escalations effectively.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to accounting teams and BPO partners.
  • Collaborate with Regional Shared Operations, Corporate Finance, Business Units, Controllers, and Technical Accounting teams.
  • Provide accounting guidance across multiple legal entities and regional operations.
  • Communicate financial and operational updates to senior leadership.

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Drive accounting process standardization across multiple ERP platforms and regions.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, acquisitions, system implementations, and process integration activities.
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready process documentation and operating procedures.

Project Management

  • Lead accounting-related projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Support integration of acquired businesses into existing accounting processes and controls.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Experience in a regional or global Shared Services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Experience managing outsourced service providers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • SAP experience required; BlackLine experience is an advantage.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
