Roles & responsibilities
KPMG US Engagement Quality Control Review (EQCR) team, led by the Department of Professional Practice (DPP), supports SEC Reviewing Partners in performing Quality Control Reviews to drive quality and consistency in the execution of audits. KPMG US EQCR Team is responsible for enhancing audit quality through various monitoring activities, including conducting objective evaluations of work performed by the engagement team for specific audit areas before the report release date.
Responsibilities:
Managers will not initially perform the review but support the procedures associated with reviews of engagement team’s work papers and documentation for specific audit areas in accordance with PCAOB auditing standards and related rules and regulations (including PCAOB and SEC independence standards).
Assist in the EQCR Team’s review of specific procedures related to accounting processes, including involvement in walkthroughs/flowcharts during the understanding phase and reviewing relevant activities, controls, and substantive audit responses.
Drive the EQCR Team's work plan, project management activities and act as a key point person for the EQCR team and engagement team. Review work performed by other professionals.
Conduct inquiries and confirmations with the engagement team to gather necessary information.
Facilitate aggregation of results of the review and present them to EQCR team members and the engagement team.
Engage in interactions with the engagement team, EQCR Team members and other stakeholders.
Stay informed about various PCAOB standards and US firm methodology and other developments relevant to the audit.
Contribute to audit quality improvement initiatives. Be eager to learn and grow as the EQCR Center evolves.

Mandatory technical & functional skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Alteryx and PowerBI is a significant advantage
Strong project management skills, particularly in managing expectations from multiple teams and proactively communicating issues, solutions and progress.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
This role is for you if you have the below
Educational qualifications
CA or CPA (shall hold active membership/license)
Work experience
Extensive experience in conducting integrated audits in accordance with PCAOB auditing standards, preferably with 6+ to 8+ years of post-qualification experience in a Big 4 firm in a client facing position as an audit manager.
Experience with the application/implementation of PCAOB auditing standards, SEC Regulations and US GAAP.
Experience with audit quality initiatives and audit quality monitoring programs
Is in the role of Manager for at least two busy season and signed off workpapers in that capacity.
Preferred experience in industries such as Life Sciences, Financial Services, Consumer and Retail, Industrial Manufacturing, Technology and Media, or Media.
