We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager for Education - Sanctions Screening Operations

The Education team within the Sanctions Screening Operations is responsible for delivering technical training and ensuring continuous learning of the staff. Screening Operations is part of the larger team - Global Payments Solutions Operations (GPSO) Business.

Role Context

This is a Global role. Responsible for working with stakeholders to develop and execute a broad-based learning and development strategy for Screening Operations teams in Globally connected locations. Support training initiatives for tactical business/process learning solutions to meet staff capability needs in line with the strategy. The Education Senior Trainer will be largely involved in delivering process training, developing the trainers to the needed level of domain expertise. They will also work on development of content for new hire, BAU, refresher and continuous learning initiatives. They will need to display core subject knowledge expertise in Payment Screening Process/domain and further cross skill capabilities in Name and Adverse Media Screening and MSS and Trade Screening.

Principal responsibilities

  • Develop Screening operations staff through effective training delivery to ensure highly effective, motivated, and committed staff to add value to the business.
  • Support the content development and continuous learning Global initiatives across various curriculums/curricula
  • Support cross-site business growth through effective, timely learning interventions.
  • Provide accreditation opportunities for the training team members, support & encouragement for the constant improvement.
  • Share knowledge & experiences with colleagues and BPs by providing:
    • Assistance/guidance on training related initiatives
    • Implement Training Operating Plan/Annual Calendar
    • Deliver high quality customer driven solutions
  • Actively promote self-development and the usage of the different learning channels.
  • Ensure timely implementation of migrations training schedules by effective learning management of new joiners.
  • Ascertain training needs based on staff feedback; strategize and implement the action plan working with Communications as appropriate.
  • Leverage off of existing L&TD & Global Education programs ensuring staff awareness through proper communication.
  • Ensure adequate development and training is provided to the team to develop skills and competency within Screening operations.
  • Ensure employees adhere to the established operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies, especially given the regulatory implications associated with Screening Operations

Requirements:

Knowledge

  • Strong Payments knowledge and experience in Payments/Sanctions Screening investigations
  • Graduate in any discipline
  • Background in Learning & Development/Training Environment is preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of training experience is preferred
  • Prior experience in managing Screening Operations, mainly payment screening training programs, is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3-6 years’ relevant experience in the Sanctions/Screening Operations domain especially payment screening is preferable.
  • Strong communication & presentation skills required with excellent planning & organization skills.
  • Highly effective in working with all levels of management and staff; adapting well to culturally diverse work environments with ability to manage resources in the most effective way to achieve cost/service levels.
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience of leading teams with the ability to manage in a matrix environment
  • Ability to maintain control, direction, and motivation in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data efficiently, draw conclusions on what the data means, and actions required.

Additional Skills

  • The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the role holder required to liaise and coordinate with operations management and team members across multiple sites.
  • Excellent understanding of the processes and systems and will need to be certified in the process.
  • CGSS Certification Preferable
