The Manager, Fleet Planning is part of the Fleet Planning team within the Finance Division. This role is responsible for American Airlines’ fleet of more than 1,500 aircraft, including long and short-term planning decisions, aircraft orders and retirements, and significant fleet related analytical decisions

• Create and publish mainline and regional fleet plans and related reporting deliverables (aircraft counts and statistics, capital requirements, etc.)
• Support the development and execution of the airline’s fleet strategy, including aircraft acquisitions, retirements, and configurations
• Conduct detailed analyses of market trends and competitor strategies to guide fleet-related decisions
• Build and maintain financial models to assess the impact and feasibility of various fleet and engine projects and transactions
• Prepare and deliver data-driven recommendations and updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders to support decision-making
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Network Planning, and Operations to ensure coordinated execution of fleet initiatives
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. finance, accounting, mathematics, economics)
• 5 years of experience in a related field (e.g. financial planning, fleet planning/transactions, network planning)
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• MBA, CFA, or other Advanced Degree
• Experience working in the airline industry, with a deep understanding of its complexities and challenges
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with complex data sets
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and analysis techniques
