Job Description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

You will act as the primary interface and gatekeeper between Research & Development and Production, ensuring the successful transfer of chemical products prior to market launch.

In this role, you will lead a team of technical expertslocatedin Germany and India. Your team members are testing our product recipes todeterminewhether the products can be manufactured in line with our safety and quality standards. These assessments include detailed desk reviews as well as laboratory testing conducted at our facilities in India. The outcomes of these evaluations are translated into standardized manufacturing instructions that are deployed across all global production sites.

A high levelof diligence, accuracy, and strict adherence to internal processes and procedures is essential to ensure operational excellence and product integrity. As our digital factory footprint continues to expand, you will also contribute strategic ideas and initiatives on how data and digitalization can beleveragedto drive process optimization and achieve the “golden batch.” This position reports directly to the Director of Materials and Product Management within the Global Operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and defining the strategy for the First Development Batch
  • Leading the team of First Development Batch Specialists located in Germany and India
  • Defining and driving the path toward the Golden Batch
  • Maintaining and continuously improving existing processes for quality and safety assessment of products using Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry
  • Supporting all chemical production sites in production batch optimization and troubleshooting activities

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Relevant experience as a chemical or process engineer in chemical production activities for a multinational company
  • Master's degree in chemical engineering, process engineering or comparable
  • Good technical understanding of chemical production processes as well as chemical analytical processes
  • Experience in leading a chemical laboratory
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High conscientiousness and care
  • Affinity and understanding for digital and operational processes
  • Very good written and spoken English, German is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical skills, goal orientation, structured approach and ability to reduce complexity
  • Willingness to travel on business at home and abroad
