Job Description

Schedule: M-F, 40 hours/week

Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the communities served by Travis Credit Union, which include the following counties: Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo.

Travis Credit Union’s (TCU) Financial Advisory Management provides oversite and operational guidance to TCU’s Financial Consulting team in assisting members with their financial goals and objectives. This leadership team strategically aligns TCU’s Wealth Management goals and objectives with the holistic promotion and growth of TCU’s financial products and services portfolio. As a member of TCU’s management team, this role works with the VP, Wealth Management in executing current and future strategies through operational implementation.

Profile:

  • Leads, trains, evaluates, coaches, professionally develops and motivates staff to attain department goals. Sets and monitors performance goals. Promotes a work environment that encourages involvement, initiative and teamwork. Builds career development paths for assigned staff. Ensures staff is well equipped and productive in all activities.
  • Responsible for resource allocation, research, special projects, systems testing, organizing pilots, providing operational training, integration and implementation of new systems to improve operational efficiencies within the retail network.
  • Ensures department projects are properly supported and are completed in a timely manner.
  • Oversees the development, research, updating, publishing, educating and directing of various departmental and all procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, organization and easy frontline retrieval. Stays current on TCU operational policies, procedures and systems.
  • Professionally represents the Wealth Management business unit in project management, committees, and collaborative settings. Maintains the integrity of employee and member experience in all things.
  • Serves as primary contact and owner of Wealth Management administrative and operational matters. Maintains, organizes, supports, and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner. Ensures business needs and service level agreements are well defined by collaborating with and maintaining quality internal relationships.
  • Responsible for the organization and management of frontline communication to eliminate redundancies and ensure efficient use of communication channels.
  • Works closely with Learning & Development to coordinate Wealth Management training to ensure relevant and current content.
  • Is the key point person for branch facilities management, technology installs/deployment, and/or upgrades.
  • Maintains department operational budget(s) working closely with leaders as needed.
  • Keeps abreast of all current laws and regulations pertaining to the department’s functions.

Skills:

  • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle a heavy work load, multitasking and delegating in a high paced environment.
  • Ability to research and learn new systems and software packages with minimal training and guidance.
  • Must excel in the area of written documentation, developing policies and procedures, memos, proposals, comparisons, root cause analysis, and business cases/plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff along with the ability to present effective training to staff.
  • Excellent PC skills, to include Microsoft Outlook, word-processing, spreadsheets, and presentation applications.
  • Must be able to work independently and meet required deadlines. Is flexible with hours needed to work, to include Saturdays.
  • Is a strong team player, works collaboratively and cohesively with others with the courage to agree or disagree on a specific subject while maintaining cross-functional partnerships with internal colleagues.
  • The ability to handle difficult member situations while positively managing stressful matters with tact and diplomacy resulting in solution resolution with win-win outcomes.
  • Focused on exceeding expectations in all areas.
  • Properly empowers those who will be held accountable for the successful completion of projects and/or attainment of goals.
  • Ability to work independently and motivated to achieve performance goals with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and handle sensitive financial matters with tact and diplomacy.

Reporting and Experience:

  • Reports directly to VP, Wealth Management.
  • Supervisory relationships for assigned financial consulting support team.
  • Associate’s degree in Business/Finance preferred and a minimum of 8 years of progressive operational experience.
  • Minimum of 3 year in supervisory or leadership role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Wealth Management and investment services experiences with a financial institution, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must acquire or obtain FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) designation as well as California Life Insurance licensing.
  • Experience in working with diverse groups and organizations in fostering creative and productive work environments, demonstrating commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Working Conditions: Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available and usually sedentary in nature

Position incumbents must register with LPL Financial and maintain a status in good standing per LPL requirements. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing with LPL Financial will affect eligibility for continued employment in this position.

Compensation

Grade 15: $82,680.00/annually - $102,128.00/annually is commensurate with experience
