Provide end-to-end financial planning, performance management and decision support for the assigned Generics External Supply Organization (ESO) portfolio, partnering with ESO, Procurement, Supply Chain and Finance stakeholders to improve cost competitiveness, productivity, supplier economics and financial governance.

Major Accountabilities

Financial Planning, Performance Management & Business Partnering

  • Lead the assigned ESO scope through target, forecast, outlook and strategic planning cycles, translating volume, price, FX, productivity and supply assumptions into robust financial plans.
  • Coordinate standard-cost estimates and product-cost updates for externally manufactured products in line with global guidance.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly reporting, forecasts and management schedules, including reconciliation of financial and operational data and variance analysis.
  • Prepare performance reviews, decision-support materials and business cases highlighting business drivers, risks, opportunities and required actions.
  • Partner with ESO and Procurement stakeholders to monitor supplier and portfolio performance and translate operational developments into financial implications.
  • Analyse purchase-price variances, manufacturing costs, volume and mix effects, supplier claims and other cost drivers while identifying productivity and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support supplier agreements, sourcing decisions, product transfers, launches, lifecycle activities and network changes through financial evaluation, scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Support Integrated Business Planning by linking demand, supply, inventory and capacity assumptions with financial outcomes and escalating material risks or trade-offs.

Process Excellence, Governance, Compliance & Capability Building

  • Maintain effective cross-functional collaboration across ESO, Procurement, Supply Chain, FRA and other Finance teams, ensuring clear ownership, timelines and issue escalation.
  • Standardize, simplify and continuously improve reporting, planning and analytical processes while enhancing data quality, transparency and automation.
  • Ensure compliance with Sandoz accounting standards, financial controls, policies and approval requirements within the area of responsibility.
  • Support internal and external audits, maintain appropriate documentation and ensure timely remediation of findings.
  • Partner with FRA and relevant process owners to resolve accounting topics, strengthen controls and proactively identify financial risks.
  • Contribute to Finance capability building and knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Take ownership of personal and professional development.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and operational excellence.

Ideal Background - Education, Experience & Skills

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; professional finance qualification or advanced degree is an advantage.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages relevant to the supplier network are an advantage.
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in business finance, FP&A, controlling, manufacturing finance, supply-chain finance or a related area.
  • Experience in product costing, standard costing, forecasting, management reporting and variance analysis.
  • Experience with external manufacturing, contract manufacturers, supplier economics, procurement or pharmaceutical operations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and business-partnering skills with the ability to translate complex operational data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and governance requirements.
  • Advanced Excel and presentation skills, with SAP, enterprise planning and business-intelligence tool experience preferred; effective stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills in a global cross-functional environment.
