The Opportunity:
The Sales Finance Manager Mexico is responsible for overseeing all aspects of trade spend and discretionary funds for the Mexico market, Mattel's largest market in the LATAM region. The role partners with the commercial organization to challenge and shape promotional investment strategy, ensuring commercial decisions are financially sound and that all contractual trade conditions are properly accrued and paid. This position ensures accurate financial planning, control, and reporting of sales adjustments, promotions, and contractual trade terms with customers, and partners closely with Sales, Accounts Receivable, Trade Marketing, and Logistics to drive financial discipline and support business growth. The role manages one direct report (Sr. Analyst) and reports to the Sales Finance Sr. Manager.
What Your Impact Will Be:
•Partner with Mexico commercial leadership to challenge and shape promotional investment strategy, commercial conditions, and new customer or channel decisions, holding financial criteria in the room where the decision is made.
•Lead financial planning processes for trade spend and DFI, including quarterly forecasts, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and monthly sales adjustment closings.
•Approve promotional activities in Salesforce, validating contractual trade conditions, budget availability, and adherence to investment policies and approval governance.
•Monitor and control trade spend performance by customer, ensuring accuracy in accruals, reclassifications, and reconciliations.
•Conduct financial analysis of potential new customers, prepare estimated P&L, and provide the required approval to set up accounts in the system, ensuring commercial conditions align with Mattel's policies.
•Perform account reconciliations to ensure that trade spend payouts and customer-related disbursements align with the amounts initially budgeted, identifying and correcting variances.
•Support SOX compliance, internal/external audits, and adherence to Mattel's corporate financial policies, US GAAP, and IFRS standards.
•Partner with Sales, AR, Trade Marketing, and Logistics to provide financial insights, ensure alignment between commercial actions and financial impacts, and resolve discrepancies.
