Job Description

The Finance Manager is responsible for daily oversight and monitoring of the finance and accounting activities assigned to themselves and/or their team.  Additionally, the Finance Manager provides guidance, training, and consultation to employees and finance team members regarding their specific financial services and recruitment of staff as needed.  Managers may also be responsible for the maintenance and administration of financial accounting systems supporting their assigned function and maintenance of processes and internal controls within their assigned area.

What You Will Do:

  • Preparation of periodic budgets and forecasts for the Region(s).
  • Guides in the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns for ABS and its subsidiary companies.
  • Guide in the preparation of returns relating to personal property, license, annual reports and other miscellaneous returns for ABS and its subsidiary companies.
  • Coordination and administration of external audits.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and reporting of financial information to senior management for purposes of making informed decisions and evaluating performance. 
  • Maintain relationships with important vendors, service providers and business partners.
  • Participate in cross functional and/or multi-jurisdictional teams and projects across the ABS organization as needed.
  • Train, supervise, provide guidance, and coordinate the work of the financial staff while assuming accountability for service delivery.
  • Collaborate within the ABS organization to identify and resolve business issues.
  • Drive value and efficiency in assigned processes while minimizing risk and cost.
  • Maintain an effective internal controls environment by ensuring that FSG Policy and Procedural Statements are adhered to in assigned area.  Drive the FSG strategy by identifying and implementing innovative solutions and services to improve and simplify processes.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years' previous accounting and tax experience in an international service or manufacturing company environment, with some experience in a financial management position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Disciplined in relevant accounting or financial concepts and principles.
  • Technically proficient with financial and accounting systems / software.
  • Capacity to analyze, interpret, and report financial data.
  • Good interpersonal skills for dealing with internal and external clients.
  • Good managerial skills in the areas of team leadership, development, organization, planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, preferably Oracle.
  • A thorough knowledge of ABS and its businesses and processes is also beneficial to providing maximum effectiveness in this position.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships:

The incumbent reports directly to the Director of Finance. May have individual contributors report to them.
