This position provides the necessary leadership and management for the Facility Maintenance and Operations (FMO) department for Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, including other off-site clinics. This position will join a leadership team of an adjunct facility manager, a director, two supervisors and approximately 50 technicians supporting a 24/7 operation. The scope of responsibility includes approximately 3 million sq. ft.

Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: 2 year’s trade school specializing in building maintenance, or 3 years' experience in a progressive building maintenance position, or bachelor's degree in a related discipline.

Experience: 5 years managing facility maintenance staff, or 3 years' experience in a progressive building maintenance position with a bachelor's degree in a related discipline.

License(s) or certifications:
• Valid Driver's License for all Mercy location.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, design, construction, mechanical or electrical.

Experience: 8 to 10 years' experience in engineering, construction project management, or facilities management in a healthcare environment preferred. 6 or more year’s proven supervisory or management experience with a multi-craft team.

Certification(s): Certified Healthcare Facility Management (CHFM) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM),

• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively build relationships at all levels of the organization. High emotional intelligence.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be flexible and creative in developing solutions that deliver results.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously and to adapt to rapidly changing schedules, priorities, and workflow.
• Must have sound judgment and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills that deliver practical solutions.
• Ability to make programmatic changes and decisions derived from data and or regulatory research.
• Must be able to type accurately and demonstrate fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
