This role centres on Campus Facilities and Assets Management. The candidate will be involved in Singapore Polytechnic Facilities and Asset Management (FAM) matters, with the role to lead, plan, organize, oversee, co-ordinate and manage FAM functions and staff in SP Department of Estates and Development (ED), as well as SP’s appointed Facilities Management (FM) contractors, to ensure a safe and well-maintained campus that supports effective learning.
The scope is extensive, requiring personnel with advanced technical expertise to manage and oversee facility-related responsibilities and promote effective cooperation among diverse stakeholders and long-term contractors.
[What you will be working on]
1. Management of FAM related functions
Lead, plan, organize, oversee, co-ordinate and manage FAM matters and related functions
Ensure the SP campus remains safe and well-maintained, supporting uninterrupted student learning, and fully compliant with all regulatory requirements.
Timely response to queries from stakeholders and effective stakeholder management
2. Lead and manage FAM staff
Provide leadership, mentorship, and management to FAM staff, fostering an engaged and highly competent FAM division
Strategically plan for staff development and growth, ensuring effective personnel succession within the department
3. Lead and managed SP’s outsourced FM contractors
Oversee and administer SP’s outsourced long-term FM contractors, including overall contract administration for SP FM contracts, to maintain a safe and well-kept campus while ensuring effective management of FM contracts.
Other Responsibilities
Financial management and oversight for related FAM functions, including planning and procurement of services & goods, and relevant financial management and oversight.
Stay updated on the latest industry developments and regulatory requirements to provide recommendations, develop and implement proposals to enhance maintenance regimes and practices in Singapore Polytechnic in alignment with best practices.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
[What we are looking for]
Minimum Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree, BSc Project and Facilities Management (PFM), or related discipline
Fire Safety Manager Certificate
Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience
Strong analytical, critical reasoning and project management abilities
Proven leadership qualities and strategic planning capabilities
Effective team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with and manage various stakeholders
Strong time management, resourcefulness, self-motivation and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Positive work attitude, with the capability to effectively engage with employees at all levels
Able to communicate confidently and effectively with senior management, both internally and externally
Excellent communication, problem solving, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Strong listening skills and a positive attitude
Possession of BCA Green Mark certification and/or related experiences is considered an advantage
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
