Job Description

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties

  • Lead and develop teams by providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and support in complex situations, including managing challenging workloads. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for the unit to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee and coordinate Ministerial, Parliamentary and interjurisdictional requests and responses, including those from national bodies such as Safe Work Australia, Head of Workers’ Compensation Authorities and Heads of Workplace Safety Authorities.
  • Provide high-level oversight and rigorous quality assurance of meeting papers, minutes, correspondence, and related documentation for the Board and its subcommittees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution.
  • Contribute to strategic and business planning processes for the Board and WorkSafe Tasmania by coordinating the development, monitoring, and preparation of reports that support informed decision-making and organisational objectives.
  • Conduct thorough research and deliver clear, concise written and verbal briefings to senior management and external stakeholders. Play a key role in developing and managing processes and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Other duties as directed that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying jobs at this classification level.

Desirable Requirements

  • Driver’s licence.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
