Tomorrow That Counts - About this role:


In this Engineering Manager role you will support the Alliance Manager in the planning, delivery, and assurance of European Train Control Systems (ETCS) engineering activities. You will provide technical leadership and support within a multi-disciplinary and multi-party environment, ensuring ETCS solutions are safe, compliant, and operationally effective. You will also support consistent engineering outcomes across a range of projects and contribute to the successful integration of the ETCS into the Queensland Rail network.

Purpose That Counts - some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Participate as a member of the Alliance Program Team (APT) to provide leadership on key engineering and operational issues that assist the ETCS program
  • Identify, capture, and manage project engineering requirements including changes to, gatekeeping, and quality of requirements to ensure the delivery of results in a highly complex and diverse brownfields environment
  • Build and manage interfaces and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the delivery of Queensland Rail support for Signalling, Telecommunications, Operational Systems, and Electrical engineering services for the ETCS Alliance
  • Manage the sustainable development of engineering capability, including professional and technical competency
  • Lead and manage a team of Signalling, Telecommunications, and Operational Systems leads in the ETCS project

People Who Count – Who we are looking for:

  • High level of leadership and management skills in delivering engineering services in complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects within a safety critical rail environment
  • High level of interpersonal communication, consultation, and negotiation skills
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practice
  • Extensive knowledge of Queensland rail operations and high-level skill in the technical delivery of large-scale signalling projects
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
  • You must hold RPEQ or have the ability to obtain
