If you are an experienced environmental and community relations leader who excels in compliance, engagement, and sustainability strategy, we want you on our team!
As Manager, Environmental & Community Relations, you will play a strategic leadership role in ensuring the Island Gold District meets and exceeds environmental, regulatory, and social responsibility standards. You will lead environmental compliance, community engagement, and Indigenous relations initiatives, working closely with site leadership, corporate teams, regulators, and external stakeholders to support responsible and sustainable mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Leadership & Compliance:
Lead environmental compliance at site, including regulatory reporting, monitoring programs, permitting, reclamation planning, and closure strategies to ensure alignment with Provincial and Federal requirements.
Environmental Systems & Permitting:
Oversee environmental management systems, policies, and procedures, and manage permitting and approvals for new and existing operations in partnership with internal teams and regulatory agencies.
Closure & Reclamation Planning:
Develop and maintain mine closure plans, oversee environmental sampling programs, coordinate consultants, and ensure long-term environmental sustainability and compliance.
Community Relations & Engagement:
Develop and lead community engagement and development strategies, maintaining open, transparent, and positive relationships with local communities, stakeholders, government representatives, and media.
Indigenous Relations:
Build and sustain strong relationships with Indigenous communities, support the fulfillment of Benefit Agreement commitments, lead engagement through Environment Committees, and foster economic and collaboration opportunities.
Strategic Sustainability & Safety Leadership:
Implement Alamos’ Sustainability Performance Management Framework at the district level, champion a safety-first culture, and monitor performance against corporate environmental and social standards.
