The Resource Division of DuBois, based out of Vancouver, requires an Engineering Manager to guide, strengthen and manage our existing team of equipment engineers. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic manager with an action-oriented mindset and a focus on exceeding expectations, who operates with vision and integrity. The Engineering manager oversees the daily operations of the Equipment Engineering team and ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates will have experience in identifying and navigating organizational changes, a keen interest in international trends in project management, engineering and leadership, and an above average emotional intelligence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Execution
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
Define project budgets and generate corresponding client quotes to mitigate commercial and technical risks.
Consult with clients and internal cross-functional teams to review project proposals, statements of work, change orders, issue resolution etc. to determine scope, goals, timeframes, budget, staffing requirements and project constraints.
Manage client and stakeholder relationships and address escalations.
Oversee changes to project scope, schedules, and costs using appropriate verification and risk assessment techniques.
Oversee the sourcing, qualifying, managing and presenting to key suppliers and contractors.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, ensuring a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Foster professional growth and development by designing and implementing specific professional and accountability plans for each individual direct report by providing regular feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities.
Develop and manage the Equipment Engineering team through KPIs and quality management processes
Technical Competency
Oversee development of a Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
Lead technical design and proposal generation processes of engineering projects.
Ensure equipment solutions are designed to consistently apply chemistries and ensure performance of proprietary formulations.
Act as a key technical advisor in meetings with customers and prospects to support sales efforts.
Process Improvement
Develop tools and resources to adaptably manage a portfolio of transformational projects with predictable consistency, efficiency, and success.
Implement processes and procedures that optimize project management and project documentation across the organization.
Track project performance and conduct post-mortems to ensure continuous improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
10 years of relative experience, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.
Proven track record of managing high-performing teams and delivering complex projects.
Technical Skills:
International Engineering Projects experience is a key asset
Licensed as a practicing Professional Engineer in the province of British Columbia
Significant large project management experience in oil/gas, mining or similar is required.
Experience with large, complex technical projects (oil/gas, mining, etc..) is required
Experience working with international contractors and suppliers is an asset
Sales and customer service experience is an asset.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Industrial)
MBA or extensive business management experience
