As Manager, Engineering Transformation; you will lead a team responsible for delivering innovative learning experiences, technology enablement programs, AI-focused capability development initiatives, and workforce transformation solutions that help employees continuously learn, grow, and innovate.
Working closely with technology leaders, architects, and stakeholders across North America and Asia, you will drive learning strategy, oversee enterprise-wide programs, and help accelerate the development of critical technology skills that support Manulife's digital ambitions.

Position Responsibilities:
Lead and Develop Talent
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team focused on technology learning, enablement, and workforce development.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and growth-oriented team culture that encourages innovation and continuous learning.
Support employee development through coaching, performance management, career planning, and succession planning.
Create opportunities for team members to expand their leadership capabilities, technical knowledge, and business impact.
Drive Technology Learning and Capability Development
Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of technology learning programs and capability development initiatives across the organization.
Oversee the creation and continuous improvement of learning pathways, instructor-led training, workshops, self-paced courses, and digital learning experiences.
Partner with technology leaders, architects, engineers, and subject matter experts to ensure content remains relevant and aligned with evolving business priorities.
Coordinate global learning initiatives involving instructors, content creators, technology platform teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
Measure learner engagement, program effectiveness, and business outcomes to continuously improve learning experiences and impact.
Lead Programs and Strategic Initiatives
Own and execute the roadmap for Manulife University's technology learning portfolio.
Lead multiple concurrent initiatives while managing priorities, budgets, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
Establish governance practices, progress reporting, and performance metrics to support strategic objectives.
Translate organizational goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
Advance AI Adoption and Innovation
Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies to enhance learning experiences and operational effectiveness.
Support enterprise AI adoption through learning programs, enablement initiatives, and workforce capability development.
Champion innovation and continuous improvement across programs, processes, and delivery methods.
Stay informed on emerging technology and learning trends to help shape future capability development strategies.
Build Strategic Partnerships
Develop strong partnerships with technology leaders, architects, product teams, platform teams, and business stakeholders across the enterprise.
Collaborate with colleagues across North America and Asia to support global learning and workforce development initiatives.
Communicate effectively with senior leaders to align priorities, provide updates, and drive successful outcomes.
Participate in occasional meetings outside of standard North American business hours to support collaboration with global teams.
Required Qualifications:
Experience leading teams within technology, learning, enablement, program management, workforce development, or related functions.
Demonstrated success delivering complex cross-functional programs involving multiple stakeholders.
Strong project and program management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and execution.
Experience partnering with technology organizations and familiarity with modern software engineering, cloud, Agile, or AI-enabled environments.
Exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership capabilities.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.
Experience collaborating effectively with globally distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing or leading technology learning, employee enablement, or workforce development programs.
Familiarity with learning management systems, digital learning platforms, or content management tools.
Experience supporting AI adoption, Generative AI, automation, low-code/no-code platforms, or technology transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with Azure and enterprise technology ecosystems.
Experience supporting global programs across multiple regions and time zones.
Relevant certifications such as PMP, Agile, Scrum, PROSCI, or similar project and change management credentials.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data and insights to improve program performance and learner outcomes.

Salary range is expected to be between
$113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CAD
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
