The Manager,Engineeringleadsanon-siteengineeringteam,supporting the Home InterconnectandControls department'sresidential backup-power product and solution delivery teams This is a hands-ontechnical leadershiprole requiring strongproductdevelopment experience — including thedepthtolead firmware and hardware development,coupled with proven people-leadership skills The Manageris responsible fortheday-to-day executionandquality oftheteam's firmware,electrical,and mechanical development work,collaborating closely with U.S. engineering leadership and functional counterparts As the on-site leader,the Managerprovides continuityanddirection fortheteamacross time zonesThe Manager is also responsibleforestablishingandcontinuously improving the team'sdevelopmentmethodologyandengineering standards to ensure high-quality firmware and hardware,while fostering innovation and creativity within the engineeringteam
Provide hands-on technical leadershipforthefirmwareteam'sday-to-daydevelopmentwork, including setting up andmaintainingbuildenvironments, participatingincode reviews, and approving pull requests For the electrical, PCB design, and mechanical work, manage day-to-day resource scheduling and coordination, with deeper technical guidance provided by U.S. counterparts
Establish and continuously improve development processes,codingstandards,and toolchains that enable repeatable, high-quality deliveryacrossthe team
Onboard and train new teammembers, andkeep the team productive and unblocked during hours when US.-based teams are unavailable
Foster collaborationwithother engineering teams, product management,andquality engineeringto deliver and iterate on reliable solutions
Manageteam resources and budget,ensure compliancewith engineeringandquality standards, andsupportdepartmentgoalsfor on-time,high-quality delivery
Provide engineering leadership and design oversight functions for new product development projectsincluding: creating and maintaining development schedules, executing product development plans (schedule, product cost, resources to complete project, quality targets, product specification adherence, development and prove out of product validation test plans, etc.), interfacing with internal company personnel.
Coordinate day-to-day execution withtheU.S.-based product delivery andsolution delivery teams, ensuringengineering resourcesare applied effectivelyto meetdepartment priorities and schedules
Support the full product lifecycle — including new product development, sustaining engineering,componentengineering, and field issue investigation — to deliver innovation, quality,and customer satisfaction.
Designsanddirectsthe work of the team. Selects,coachesand develops staff.Setsclear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance-- recognizing achievement, providingfeedbackand administering progressive discipline when necessary.
Create andmaintainan organizational culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement/commitmentand a sense of urgency toward goals, and continuous improvement. Challenges team members to question the status quo and ensure that all aspects of the design, development and support process areoptimalfor theresidential backup-powermarket.
Engage in and lead business planning processes, recruitment, retention, talent acquisition, development, and mentoring.
Develop engineering talent throughout the company,identifyingtraining and growth plans for employees.
Establish the vision andstandards to drive world-class engineering excellence within the team andpartner with U.S. engineering leadership on planning and product development priorities
Education
Bachelor of Science Degree inElectrical, Electronics, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; AllIndia Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved
Work Experience
10+years of engineering experience,with hands-on embedded firmware and/or electronics/PCB hardware experience strongly preferred
3+years of management experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
Working knowledge ofmodernfirmware developmentworkflows,including version control (e.g.,Git), code review,andCI/build tooling
Working knowledge of electronics/PCB hardware development, including schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and design verification
Excellent communication skills
Self-driven, highly motivated,flexibleandhigh capacity to learn
Experience coordinating work across time zones with geographically distributed teams
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Experiencedeveloping embedded firmware and electronics forreal-time embeddedcontrolsystemsdesired;
Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple global projects simultaneously, balancing resources,timingand quality of outcomes;
