WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Managed Business Services team within the AI and Cloud accelerator group in SimCorp's Application Foundation area — someone who can bring clarity and efficiency to a team doing critical foundational work, and who is ready to help shape how applications are built and scaled across the organization.

You’ll lead through direction and delivery: shaping the operating model, prioritizing the roadmap, and partnering across Product, Engineering, and Operations to turn AI and cloud goals into tangible outcomes. This is a practical leadership role for someone who enjoys working across ambiguity, executing plans, and building high-trust collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

Agile ways of working are key for SimCorp’s success, and in the MBS product area (department) we need an Engineering Manager who can be a servant leader for an effective team that lives the agile values. The MBS area has been thriving for 2 years now and is a strategically important area that aims to develop a new and modern frontend, making the role critical not only for the Business area but for SimCorp as a whole. The teams will consist mainly of team members on-site in Noida. As Engineering Manager, your responsibility will be to solve technical roadblocks, preserve and further develop the agile ways of working, and ensure that scrum ceremonies are adding value, as well as that an agile mindset is adopted among the team members. Furthermore, your job will be to continuously coach and mentor the teams and build trustful relationships with the individual team members. A thorough understanding of, and experience with, scrum and agile is therefore required. Another key responsibility for the Engineering Manager is to promote efficient teamwork across the product area and with external groups, which requires solid stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Team leadership and development

  • Lead an established, effective team with a solid foundation, ensuring they remain motivated, engaged, and continuously evolving.

  • Create the conditions for the team to do their best work — clear priorities, healthy ways of working, and a culture where people feel supported and engaged

  • Develop individual engineers through regular 1:1s, coaching, and direct feedback; support their growth within SimCorp

Delivery and operations

  • Own delivery of the team's backlog, manage the application’s environments and deployment pipelines

  • Manage day-to-day task prioritization, capacity, and engineering health, ensuring the team delivers consistently without burning out

  • Identify and remove blockers before they slow the team down; step in where decisions need to be made rather than waiting for permission.

  • Align the team around clear priorities and outcomes, ensuring work remains impact-driven rather than activity-driven.

Stakeholder and cross-team collaboration

  • Work closely with product owner to align on priorities, surface risks early, and contribute to the team's longer-term direction.

  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure the MBS platform integrates well with upstream/downstream systems.

  • Translate the team's technical work into clear, meaningful updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strategy and growth

  • Support the team in helping implement practical AI adoption across the SDLC—focusing on real, measurable improvements in developer productivity and delivery speed.

  • Plan ahead: anticipate where the team needs to grow in skills, headcount, and tools, and advocate for what is needed.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Personal accountability and initiative You own your work without being told to. When something is unclear, you dig in rather than waiting for someone to hand you an answer. You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, and you follow through.

  • Management experience You have led people, projects, or both. People management experience, or substantial project management backgrounds where there is genuine accountability for team output and delivery. We expect 10+ years of total professional experience.

  • Technical grounding You have a background in engineering or data, and you are comfortable engaging with the work your team does day-to-day. You are not expected to be writing code, but you definitely need to understand what your engineers are building, ask the right questions, and spot when something is off.

  • Communication clarity You write and speak in plain, precise English. You can explain a complex pipeline decision or a container integration to a non-technical stakeholder without oversimplifying it, and you can represent your team's work with confidence in senior forums. Good written and spoken English is essential.

  • Distributed team experience and professionalism You understand this well and act accordingly.

  • Structured thinking in ambiguous situations This is not a role with a fully defined roadmap The team is building something that is still taking shape. You create clarity where there is none, manage capacity with discipline and keep stakeholders informed without needing to escalate every decision.

  • Collaborative by default You work well across teams and functions. You know when to align, when to decide, and when to raise concerns — and you do all three constructively.

BENEFITS

  • Global hybrid work policy - We ask you to work 2 days a week from the office. If you choose you can work remotely the other days. Of course, you are welcome at the office if that is your preference.

  • Culture – Inclusive and diverse company culture.

  • Work-life balance – We believe that an equilibrium between professional responsibilities makes us all the best version of ourselves, both in private life and as colleagues in the workplace.

  • Empowerment – We believe that all voices are valuable and must be heard. You will be involved in shaping our work processes.

  • Career & Growth – Simcorp does offer opportunities for professional development: there is never just only one route - we offer an individual approach to professional development to support the direction you want to take.
