Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
  • Experience in people management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building, mentoring, and leading teams with strong executive presence and communication skills.
  • Track record of successful regulatory advocacy before FERC and within PJM stakeholder processes alongside industry coalitions.
  • In-depth knowledge of wholesale power markets, transmission policy, utility rate structures, rate design and analysis, and clean energy policy across PJM and federal jurisdictions.
  • Expert-level knowledge of key stakeholders, regulatory frameworks, market design, and emerging trends within the PJM interconnection footprint, at FERC, and across broader federal energy policy environments.
  • Ability to solve complex multi-stakeholder challenges and lead teams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $176000 - $256000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Build a team responsible for driving Google’s energy regulatory, market development, and policy strategy across the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland Interconnection (PJM) footprint and at Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
  • Lead a team overseeing strategic evaluations of wholesale power dynamics, transmission planning, power pricing, and emerging large-load tariffs to manage risks and capture commercial opportunities for our data center portfolio.
  • Direct team execution of energy regulatory and market engagement strategies before FERC and within PJM stakeholder committees, translating complex market rules into actionable infrastructure energy supply solutions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Government Affairs, Global Infrastructure, and Product leaders to co-develop federal energy policy positions aligning regional initiatives with grid reliability, affordability, and carbon-reduction goals.
  • Guide team leadership in power supply negotiations, regional utility partnerships, and broader FERC regulatory integration efforts to secure reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective energy.
