The Manager, Donor Engagement Marketing is responsible for leading Versiti's integrated donor engagement strategy—driving connection, motivation, and loyalty among donors across all channels and touchpoints. This position unites Promotional and Loyalty Marketing with Mobile and Center Donor Engagement (lifecycle)Marketing into one cohesive portfolio that inspires donor participation and improves retention. Reporting to the Director, Integrated Donor Marketing, this leader manages the Promotional Marketing team and collaborates closely with state recruitment teams, Integrated Donor Marketing, and Creative Services to design and deliver impactful campaigns that grow Versiti's donor base. The Manager drives measurable outcomes through compelling promotional campaigns, donor loyalty programs, and mobile drive marketing initiatives that increase donor frequency, deepen engagement, and expand reach within both center and community blood drives.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Donor Engagement Strategy and Program Leadership – 30% Lead the strategic development and execution of Versiti’s annual Donor Engagement Marketing Plan, integrating promotions, loyalty, and mobile drive campaigns. Partner with donor recruitment teams to design and implement campaigns that motivate first-time and repeat donors across donor centers, mobile drives, and special events. Translate audience insights and behavioral data into targeted messaging and creative strategies that enhance donor experience and drive conversion. Serve as the connective bridge between integrated donor marketing, state recruitment, and creative teams to ensure a consistent, mission-aligned donor voice.
  • 2. Promotional and Loyalty Program Leadership – 25% Oversee Versiti’s promotional and incentive calendar, ensuring campaign cadence aligns with collection goals and donor motivation patterns. Lead the strategic design and execution of donor loyalty programs that recognize and reward donors for ongoing participation. Supervise the Promotional Marketing team, guiding planning, vendor management, fulfillment operations, and ROI tracking for all incentive and recognition programs. Collaborate with CRM, Digital, and Marketing Insights teams to optimize segmentation, reward performance, and behavioral targeting. Champion innovative, data-driven approaches to donor recognition and engagement.
  • 3. Mobile and Center Engagement Marketing – 25% Design and deploy integrated marketing strategies that strengthen mobile drive performance and drive engagement among SMERF (social, military, education, religious, fraternal) and hospital partners. Design and deploy integrated marketing strategies that strengthen center performance and drive lifecycle conversion at the Center level Partner with regional and state donor recruitment teams to develop localized marketing materials, playbooks, and promotional kits that improve mobile donor acquisition and retention. Develop creative campaigns that convert mobile donors to center donors, reactivate lapsed participants, and differentiate Versiti’s mobile drives in the market. Collaborate with Blood Operations and Community Relations to ensure mobile marketing aligns with drive logistics and community outreach initiatives.
  • 4. Data and Performance Optimization – 10% Partner with the Marketing Insights and Operations team to measure campaign effectiveness and donor engagement KPIs. Analyze donor behavior data to identify trends, optimize campaign performance, and inform future strategies. Present performance dashboards and recommendations to leadership to improve campaign ROI, donor conversion, and frequency.
  • 5. Leadership and Collaboration – 10% Lead and mentor the Promotional Marketing team; set clear performance expectations and support professional growth. Foster collaboration across Donor Marketing, Creative, and Recruitment teams to ensure alignment between national strategy and local execution. Model Versiti’s Way of Leading, fostering a culture of creativity, inclusion, accountability, and measurable impact. Serve as an internal subject matter expert on donor motivation, engagement psychology, and promotional best practices.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Public Relations, Business, Public Health Administration, or a related field required
  • Master's Degree Marketing, Business, Communications or related field desired

Experience

  • 4-6 years Progressive experience in marketing, communications, or donor engagement required
  • 4-6 years Demonstrated experience in multi-channel marketing campaigns involving digital, social, and experiential components required
  • 4-6 years Demonstrated experience developing promotional or loyalty programs with measurable performance impact required
  • 1-3 years Demonstrated experience collaborating with field teams or operational stakeholders in distributed or multi-state organizations preferred
  • 1-3 years experience working in nonprofit, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of donor motivation and engagement strategies including loyalty, incentive, and retention programs required
  • Demonstrated skill in campaign planning, project management, and data informed decision making required
  • Demonstrated skill in CRM and digital marketing tools required
  • Demonstrated skill in cross-functional leadership, communication, influencing and collaboration required
  • Highly organized, creative, and results-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments required
