Opportunity

The Manager – Distribution, Union City, TN is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the Union City Distribution Center. This role oversees all aspects of site performance, including People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Sustainability, while ensuring alignment to network and business objectives. The position is accountable for driving financial results, optimizing operational efficiency, and leading cross-functional communication across the facility and broader Kohler organization.

  • Accountable for overall performance of warehouse operations at the Union City, TN Distribution Center, ensuring execution against people, safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Own and deliver key Kohler Supply Chain KPIs: Engagement Score, First Year Turnover,Manag Recordable Injury Rate, OS&D, Inventory Accuracy and Adjustments, On-Time Shipping and Cost per Unit.
  • Leads all inbound and outbound transportation operations, including coordination of manufacturing shuttle movements, to ensure efficient and reliable product flow.
  • Drives alignment and shared ownership of goals through consistent performance reporting, root cause analysis, and execution of corrective actions; establishes and enforces standard policies and procedures to support operational excellence.
  • Leads associate engagement across the DC by developing and executing engagement strategies, action plans, and clear, consistent communication.
  • Owns site safety performance in partnership with Plant EHS, driving year-over-year improvement, ensuring program effectiveness, and providing accurate monthly safety reporting.
  • Accountable for site quality performance, driving continuous improvement in OS&D and inventory adjustments through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process discipline.
  • Accountable for site On-Time Shipping (OTS) performance, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and execution of actions necessary to consistently meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Owns and manages all Union City DC budget line items, ensuring financial performance meets plan and aligns with business objectives.
  • Forecasts and plans future operational requirements across equipment, capital, labor, and facilities; develops and manages capital budgets, including replacement and new investments to support current and future growth.
  • Leads cost improvement initiatives by streamlining processes, eliminating non-value-added activities across storage, shipping, and receiving, and delivering sustainable savings to offset inflation.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy and optimizes storage methodologies within the Union City Distribution Center to support operational efficiency and service levels.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping of machinery, equipment, and facilities within the Union City Distribution Center through coordination with internal service teams and external partners.
  • Leads site execution of Kohler’s sustainability initiatives, driving sustainable practices across distribution and warehouse operations in Union City.
  • Develops a high-performing workforce through training, coaching, and career development while driving labor efficiency and cost control.
  • Apply established employee relations policies, compensation policies, safety and health regulations where such are in place. Act as necessary in recommending promotions, merit increases, transfers, leaves of absence, and disciplinary/performance improvement plans. Process associate information, rate adjustments, job postings, method changes, automatic progressions, and other related changes.
  • Supports and leads special projects and initiatives assigned by leadership.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-shift warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Knowledge of materials management, inventory control, warehouse and distribution center operations, material handling equipment, and transportation
  • Experience developing and managing operating and capital budgets
  • Experience demonstrating leadership with a track record of delivering results across
  • Experience utilizing KPI's (People, Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and Sustainability) in warehouse and distribution environments is preferred

The salary range for this position is $113,150 - $175,150. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
