Dyson Cost Management is seeking a highly motivated Manager Design-to-Cost / Lead Design-to-Cost Engineer for our Design-to-Cost team in Singapore to work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Finance teams to ensure our cost competitiveness. As the Manager Design-to-Cost / Lead Design-to-Cost Engineer within Group Finance team, you will have a significant contribution to the profitability of our inventions and innovations. Your work will have a direct impact on our product cost, our product designs, and our manufacturing processes.
Lead the planning and execution of competitor product teardowns to identify cost-out and design improvement opportunities.
Organize and facilitate Design-to-Cost workshops, engaging cross-functional teams to generate impactful and actionable ideas.
Translate insights from teardowns and workshops into clear recommendations and support teams in embedding them into projects.
Drive follow-through on Design-to-Cost initiatives, tracking progress and working closely with project teams to overcome barriers.
Promote a cost-conscious mindset by sharing teardown findings and best practices across the organisation.
Work closely with the Cost Management team and leadership to report on workshop outcomes, project impacts, and implementation challenges.
Continuously refine teardown and workshop approaches, staying curious and proactive in adopting new techniques that deliver value.
A degree in Engineering with experiences in process and part optimization (electronics and/or mechanics).
Project leadership experience.
In-depth knowledge and proven track record in Cost Engineering.
In-depth knowledge on manufacturing technologies – understanding of cost structure and margin structure of purchased and in-house manufactured parts.
