What can you expect from this position?
Reporting to the Director, Deicing Operations, the Manager, Deicing Fleet & Facilities Maintenance is a key leadership role accountable for the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of all assets at Toronto Pearson’s Central Deicing Facility (CDF). This role oversees the preventative maintenance and repair of specialized deicing vehicles, light- and heavy-duty equipment, and critical facility infrastructure, with a strong focus on innovation, customer service, and continuous improvement. As a key operational stakeholder, the Manager collaborates closely with project teams on facility construction, rehabilitation, and expansion initiatives, ensuring seamless business continuity and full operational readiness throughout asset upgrades.
The role leads the coordination of maintenance activities across internal teams and external contractors, ensuring full compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. Accountable for maintenance budgets, the Manager also drives workforce planning, training, and development, while leading emergency response planning for critical equipment failures. Leveraging a data-driven and solution-oriented approach, the Manager monitors asset performance, identifies opportunities for operational enhancement, and provides regular insights to support GTAA’s world-class winter operations.
