What's the Short Version?
The Manager, DC Facilities is responsible for reviewing, planning, and ensuring adherence to scheduled work and supervision of maintenance team members to maintain Autostore and other Distribution Center systems and equipment. This position is responsible for the mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic controls that optimize operations, material handling systems, and overall building and grounds conditions within SanMar distribution centers. Responsibilities include oversight of building and grounds maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and replacement, parts management, vendor interactions, and related automated systems. The position requires a working understanding of user interfaces, electronic controls, and components related to conveyance and production-related automated systems.
This role requires a strong understanding of automated systems, material handling equipment, and facility operations to prioritize maintenance activities, assess operational impact, and support operational continuity. While not expected to possess the same level of hands-on repair expertise as Facilities Technicians, the manager must understand system issues and ensure troubleshooting and repair activities are initiated promptly. This role fosters a culture of urgency and accountability, works closely with Distribution Systems Technology and Solutions teams, DC leadership, and Material Handling vendors and integrators to maximize system stability, scale, and performance, and is responsible for the overall DC Facilities department. This role is local to a SanMar distribution center, with potential travel to support additional sites, train technicians and DC staff, and support MHE and automation rollouts.
