What will you contribute?

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Database Management in Canada, the new Manager will lead DBAs in India/Asia Pacific region and act as SME. The incumbent will ideally have a strong database development and management background, responsible for supporting critical Production Operations Databases.

Responsible (but not limited to) building/managing business critical Database platforms which support multiple LOBs at Finastra. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining, enhancing, upgrading, or tuning databases.

As Finastra moves from physical Data Centers to the Cloud (Azure), the incumbent will need to learn and adapt quickly, as environments shift to, or are created in the (Azure) cloud.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for solution designs and documentation for DB platform

● Support and Maintain ON CALL rotation, provide RCA for incidents, manage and resolve problem tickets raised timely manner

● Create & manage/administer/maintain monitoring tools

● Responsible for mentorship and coaching DBA team members on new technologies

● Responsible for configuration, implementation and management of databases backups.

● Participate and drive solutions and deliverables for DB Audit, Annual DR tests, DB patching, Vulnerability management, DB standards, DB Risk & Security management

Required Experience

Must have 10+ years of experience managing large and/or complex OLTP and data warehouse databases in SQL Server/Oracle/PostgreSql/MySQL/NoSQL

● Must have 3+ years of experience in leading and mentoring DBAs

● Must have 2+ years of extensive hands-on PowerShell experience

Must have hands on experience and sound knowledge in cloud technologies and architecture, AI enablement feature on database technologies

● Extensive experience in DB monitoring tools like IDERA, OEM, Azure Monitoring

● Expertise in designing, managing and tuning OLTP / DW databases

Experience MSSQL Clusters, Database Mirroring, Transaction Log shipping, DB Replication, Always on Availability Groups and stretch clusters

● Expertise in SQL / T-SQL development and tuning

● Expertise in operational and incident management/resolution

● Strong documentation skills

● Strong architecture and infrastructure design for databases and ability to set and implement standards

● ITIL v3

Education & Soft Skills

University degree/College diploma in computer science or a related field of study.

● Self-motivated individual who enjoys technical challenges and takes pride in delivering high quality work. Motivate his team and develop his team members to grow further in their career

● Proven ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented environment

● Strong business/technology decision making skills

● Strong interpersonal skills to effectively influence decisions and positively impact progress

● Ability to work with a global team, yet work independently to troubleshoot and diagnose and resolve complex database issues

● Excellent oral communication skills with experience in creating clear concise documentation
