Millions of people buy and sell on eBay every day, making it one of the largest and most diverse marketplaces worldwide. A group of analysts, scientists, and strategists work behind the scenes to keep the platform safe, fair, and dependable. We are searching for an outstanding Data Scientist to join eBay’s Trust & Risk Analytics team in Toronto and help define marketplace safety at scale.
This is not a role for someone who wants to run analyses in isolation. As a Data Scientist in Trust & Risk, you will operate as a strategic analytics partner to senior leaders across Trust, Risk, Product, Engineering, Policy, and Shipping. You will build how eBay identifies, measures, and reduces transaction risk — and your work will directly influence platform decisions affecting hundreds of millions of users globally.
You will lead the analytical approach for several complex workstreams, such as seller risk, buyer risk, account risk, eBay Money Back Guarantee, and shipping loss. You will also develop measurement and decision frameworks that promote accountability and influence business outcomes throughout the organization.
eBay is a passionate company with nearly 30 years of history connecting buyers and sellers across 190 markets. The Trust & Risk team is central to that mission — and this role is one of the most strategically visible in the organization. You'll have the scale to make an impact, the autonomy to lead, and the opportunity to build something that protects real people. Join us in Toronto and help create a safer, more trusted global marketplace!
