We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  Manager Data and Analytics

In this role, you will: 

  • Execute analyses and develop data-driven strategies to support business decisions across the customer lifecycle for a specific product or market, including support for analytical and strategy projects, converting business problems into analytical problems, and identifying new opportunities to drive higher business value.
  • Deliver moderate to complex analytics and strategy work with clear documentation and stakeholder communication, presenting findings and providing high-quality recommendations to address business challenges.
  • Write efficient code to process and analyse data for business problems, using programming and analytics tools such as Python programming language, Structured Query Language, Tableau, Unix, and other Business Intelligence tools and data technologies across Unix, mainframe, or Windows platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve moderate to complex analytical problems by applying quantitative techniques, structured problem solving, and appropriate analytical methods, ensuring outputs are accurate, explainable, and fit for business use.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards, proactively driving business benefit through self-initiated projects and continuous improvement of analytical approaches and outputs.
  • Maintain strong risk management, internal controls, and compliance discipline by following relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records, implementing internal and external audit points when applicable, engaging Compliance early for new initiatives, and contributing to leadership and teamwork through effective collaboration, coaching and training new team members, and sharing best practices while adhering to the HSBC Core Values.

To be successful you will:

  • Minimum of 3 years of robust, proven experience, preferably in the banking and financial services domain, applying quantitative concepts to solve complex business problems.
  • Bachelor’s degree, at minimum, in a relevant quantitative discipline.
  • Good knowledge of programming tools, Machine Learning, and prediction modelling, with proficiency in one or a combination of the following: Python programming language, Structured Query Language, Tableau, Unix, other Business Intelligence tools, and data technologies across Unix, mainframe, or Windows platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organisation.
