The Business Administration team administers reinsurance business by reviewing and overseeing insurance data received from clients in various formats. The team ensures compliance with treaty requirements, data integrity, and accurate processing within RGA systems.

This role is primarily focused on driving operational transformation, process optimization, and technology adoption within the Business Administration function. The successful candidate is expected to leverage their insurance or reinsurance experience to challenge existing processes, identify automation opportunities, and lead operational improvements while providing oversight of daily operations managed by the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Improvement, Automation & Technology (70%)

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to simplify, standardize, and optimize end-to-end business administration processes.

  • Identify operational inefficiencies, control gaps, and manual activities, and develop scalable solutions to improve productivity and service quality.

  • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives by leveraging technologies such as workflow tools, reporting platforms, AI solutions, low-code applications, and data management tools.

  • Partner with business and technology teams to define requirements, evaluate solutions, and implement system enhancements.

  • Challenge existing operating models and introduce best practices to improve operational effectiveness and reduce operational risk.

  • Develop and maintain management reporting, dashboards, and operational metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Lead operational readiness and change management activities related to new systems, automation initiatives, and process changes.

  • Collaborate with regional and local stakeholders on strategic projects, technology initiatives, and process standardization efforts.

Operational Oversight & Team Leadership (30%)

  • Provide oversight and review of insurance and reinsurance administration activities performed by the team.

  • Review and approve critical outputs, including statement processing, data validation results, reconciliations, and account settlements.

  • Apply insurance and reinsurance expertise to assess data anomalies, operational issues, and treaty-related matters.

  • Coach and guide team members on complex operational issues and ensure adherence to established procedures and controls.

  • Monitor operational performance, service standards, and key risk indicators.

  • Support issue resolution and stakeholder communication for complex client and business matters.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Analysis, Information Systems, Insurance, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the life insurance or reinsurance industry, with a solid understanding of insurance data, policy/treaty administration, and operational processes.

  • Proven experience in driving process improvement, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement technology-enabled solutions.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables and Power Query) and data tools such as SQL and Alteryx.

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Python, VBA, Power BI, Power Automate, and Alteryx; ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI solutions.

  • Strong understanding of operational controls and the ability to review and challenge business processes rather than perform routine processing activities.

  • Self-motivated, innovative, and passionate about leveraging technology to improve operational efficiency and scalability.

  • Proficiency in English and Cantonese is required
