Job Description

Your Role as Manager-Data & Analytics

The Manager – Data and Analytics is responsible for enterprise data management and analytics within WMQ. This includes developing the overall data architecture strategy and creating and maintaining standards and best practices in order to enable data driven decision making. You will act as the subject matter expert within the organization and can liaise and communicate with all areas of the organisation.

  • Lead the development and execution of Wesley Mission Queensland's enterprise data, analytics and AI strategy, enabling data-driven decision making and innovation.
  • Establish and oversee data governance, AI governance, privacy, quality and ethical frameworks to ensure the responsible use of information and emerging technologies.
  • Drive opportunities to leverage advanced analytics, forecasting, artificial intelligence and automation to improve service delivery, operational efficiency and client outcomes.
  • Define and manage the enterprise data platform, including cloud data services, data integration, analytics capabilities and governance tooling.
  • Lead the development of data products, reporting solutions and decision-support capabilities that deliver measurable organisational value.
  • Champion a data-informed culture through stakeholder engagement, education, coaching and the promotion of data literacy across the organisation.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and development for the Data & Analytics team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and innovative environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior Data, Analytics or Technology leadership role with responsibility for budgets, people leadership and strategic delivery.
  • Strong expertise in data governance, data modelling, data integration, analytics, reporting, data visualisation and business insights.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data technologies, including Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, metadata management, data catalogues, data quality management, master data management and data product management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including enterprise administration and governance.
  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies and SDLC practices, with a track record of delivering initiatives on time and managing competing priorities.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience presenting complex information and insights to senior leaders while handling sensitive and confidential information in accordance with relevant legislation and compliance requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Management, Information Systems, Information Science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
  • Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
  • Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
