2. JOB PURPOSE
The Manager, Data Analysis is a hands-on role accountable for the dashboards, reports, and analytical models that Hikma's business functions rely on for decision-making. Working within the roadmap, standards, and platform architecture set by the Director, Data & Analytics, the role owns day-to-day delivery on the Enterprise Analytics platform, remaining directly involved at working level in data modelling, measure development, performance tuning, refresh schedules, and access controls. The role is expected to go beyond fulfilling requests: engaging business function leads proactively, shaping and agreeing requirements before build, investigating why results occur rather than only reporting what happened, and presenting recommendations stakeholders can act on. It sets the data modelling and reporting standards followed across the business, including by analysts embedded within business functions, and is the direct source of reporting for functions without a dedicated analyst. The role also leads a small team of analysts and BI specialists, reviewing their work, developing their technical capability, and acting as the primary point of contact between the business and the Data & Analytics team.

Strategy & Standards
- Deliver against the Enterprise Analytics/BI roadmap set by the Director, Data & Analytics, translating it into planned dashboard and report delivery
- Define and maintain reusable data models, reporting standards, naming conventions, and report layouts for use by all analysts, including those embedded in business functions
- Co-own the definition of key business metrics and KPIs with the data governance function to ensure consistency across the reporting estate
- Support budget forecasts and cycle health checks in line with Hikma financial standards
Business Engagement
- Build ongoing relationships with business function leads, moving beyond a request-response model to become a trusted analytics partner
- Meet regularly with stakeholders to understand business priorities, pain points, and upcoming needs before they become formal reporting requests
- Gather, document, and agree business requirements before build, including the business problem, objectives, data sources, calculation logic, scope, and success criteria
- Present insights and recommendations to business stakeholders, not only dashboards or reports, so outputs support clear decision-making
- Promote adoption of BI outputs and support improved data literacy across business functions
Policies & Procedures
- Apply and enforce BI development standards (naming, versioning, source documentation) set by the Director, Data & Analytics
- Operate within the data governance framework and escalate gaps in data quality, access, or documentation
- Follow Enterprise Applications and D&A Centre of Excellence policies and procedures
- Apply company policy and contractual best practice when working with BI tooling vendors and implementation partners
People Management and Development
- Manage, coach, and mentor a small team of Analysts/BI Specialists, onboarding new joiners and building capability in data modelling, DAX, and dashboard design
- Set yearly objectives and development plans for each team member, covering company, career, and technical development goals
- Identify high-potential team members and develop them in partnership with the Director
Day-to-Day Operations
- Triage incoming data and reporting requests and assign them to the right team member based on complexity and data domain
- Identify new sources of data within the organisation (ERP, CRM, manufacturing systems) and escalate integration needs to the Director
- Apply row-level security, access controls, and data privacy requirements so the right people see the right data
- Run design and peer reviews of team-produced data models, DAX measures, and dashboards before release to business users
- Track and report team KPIs (delivery turnaround, ticket volume, adoption, service quality) on a regular cadence
Job Related (Specific Accountabilities)
- Build, maintain, and optimise Power BI datasets, data models, and DAX measures within the Enterprise Analytics platform, under the Director's design authority
- Perform configuration and change management for assigned reporting areas (Power BI workspaces, gateways, datasets)
- Automate data refresh, distribution, and alerting within the existing Power BI platform

7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Essential
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
- 4–8 years' progressive experience in data analytics, BI, or enterprise reporting, including proven accountability for leading a small analytics/BI team and owning end-to-end delivery
Technical Skills
- Deep, hands-on mastery of Power BI — able to own enterprise semantic models end to end, including data modelling, advanced DAX, Power Query (M), and workspace/gateway administration, and to set the standard others build to
- Proven expertise in tabular modelling and performance tuning at enterprise scale — diagnosing and resolving model, DAX, and refresh performance issues using tools such as Tabular Editor and DAX Studio across Power BI Premium and/or Azure Analysis Services
- Strong command of SQL for interrogating, validating, and reconciling data across relational databases and enterprise systems (ERP/CRM)
- Sound grounding in data warehousing and integration architecture (ETL/ELT, star schema, fact/dimension modelling), with the judgement to shape durable, reusable models rather than one-off solutions
- Confident application of data access controls (e.g., row-level security) and data privacy requirements in a regulated enterprise reporting environment
- Familiarity with ITIL or similar IT service-management frameworks for handling BI support tickets and change control
Business, Stakeholder & Leadership Capability
- Credible business and domain understanding in at least one core area — commercial, finance, supply chain, or manufacturing — sufficient to challenge assumptions, frame the right questions, and translate business processes into analytical models
- Mature stakeholder-management and business-engagement capability — able to hold credible discussions with function leads, structure and document business requirements, and present insights and recommendations that stand up to senior scrutiny
- Demonstrated people-leadership capability — setting technical direction, reviewing and raising the quality of others' work, and developing analysts over time
- Excellent English language skills, written and spoken
Desirable
- Experience leading or contributing to the migration of reporting and data workloads between platforms
- Familiarity with Spark SQL and lakehouse architecture concepts
