The Experience Designer role is an independent contributor at Chubb who will lead the full spectrum of product design activities. The role is responsible for designing experiences that solve customer problems by bringing together user experience and creative design — driving intuitive solutions that better the design and usability of Chubb’s digital solutions, and guiding user-centered methodologies from strategy and research through design and user testing.
Who You Are
You are excited by the prospect of designing amazing user experiences to solve customer problems by bringing together user experience and creative design.
You are responsible for delivering the vision of user experience design and strategy.
You are driven to create intuitive and data-driven solutions, bettering the design and usability of Chubb’s digital solutions and guiding user-centered methodologies from strategy, research, design, and user testing.
You own Voice of the Customer, customer satisfaction tracking, and end-to-end journey definition — including optimization that removes friction to drive conversion and user satisfaction.
You are excited at the prospect of working with multi-disciplinary teams in an iterative manner to deliver Chubb’s superior service execution digitally.
You are committed to continuous improvement for both your teams, yourself, and Chubb’s culture.
What You Will Do
Execute the UX process and implementation of projects associated with different business units.
Carry out user-centric design practices — conceptualize interfaces, visualize digital experiences or applications, and understand how each touchpoint connects to the full user experience.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to analyze quantitative and qualitative user research and synthesize user and customer data from many sources to identify opportunities; recommend user-centric design directions with an eye toward human value, feasibility, and economy.
Conduct user testing and qualitative sessions to improve engagement, usability, and affinity.
Apply, promote, and iterate design guidelines, best practices, and standards (i.e., Chubb Design System).
Follow existing responsive logic and produce adaptive design screens; provide UI implementation support across different platforms and sites.
Illustrate design ideas using collaborative design tools such as Figma.
Connect design strategy to business results.
Foundational Skills
Willing and able to break the mold, challenging the status quo for the good of the customer and user experience design.
Able to effectively interact with key roles within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong communication and time management skills, with a sense of ownership and urgency.
Ability to facilitate design feedback/review sessions with designers, business leads, developers, and other roles, and to explain design approaches or technical details.
Experience with an iterative design process, recognizing that the first design is rarely the final design (i.e., MVP mindset).
Experience with design thinking and human-centered design frameworks.
Ability and willingness to learn Agile ways of working.
Skills & Education
5+ years of hands-on UX experience preferred.
Experience with Fintech products and AI (Artificial Intelligence) use in design is an advantage.
Prior experience as a product designer or UX/UI designer.
Experience across the full spectrum of UX and UI design activities, including UX research, wireframing, high-fidelity UI design, and user testing.
Proficient in collaborative design tools such as Figma, Mural, etc.
A good understanding of design implementation, as opposed to delivering a proof-of-concept (POC) design only.
Experience with responsive design and UI handoff.
Experience with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in a design field (e.g., graphic, communication, media, industrial), computer science, HCI, psychology, marketing, or related field; and/or certification in UX/UI.
