Job Description

Lead customer strategy. Shape the customer experience. Drive transformation.

Transgrid is seeking an accomplished Manager Customer Strategy and Enablement to lead the development and implementation of our customer strategy across the end-to-end customer journey.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced customer, strategy or engagement professional who can combine strategic thinking with practical execution to deliver meaningful improvements in customer experience, connection outcomes and organisational capability.

Reporting to the General Manager Customer Enablement and Connections, you will lead a team of customer strategy and engagement specialists and play a critical role in shaping how Transgrid understands, engages with and creates value for its customers.

About the role

The Manager Customer Strategy and Enablement will lead the Customer Strategy and Engagement function, with responsibility spanning the entire customer journey — from pre-enquiry and connection through to commissioning, operational release, optimisation and ongoing operations.

You will develop and champion Transgrid's customer strategy, translating customer insight, market intelligence and voice-of-customer feedback into clear priorities, roadmaps, standards and measurable initiatives.

As a senior leader, you will also be a catalyst for customer culture and capability, partnering across the organisation to embed customer-centric thinking, behaviours and accountability into everyday decisions, processes and ways of working.

You will act as a trusted adviser to senior executives and the Board, providing thought leadership on customer strategy, experience, engagement and value.

About you

You are a senior customer, strategy or engagement leader who can operate confidently in a complex, highly regulated and stakeholder-rich environment.

You will bring:

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in a large, complex organisation.
  • A proven track record developing and implementing customer, customer experience or engagement strategies.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and driving organisational culture and capability change.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to turn complex information, ambiguity and customer insight into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience working within energy, infrastructure, utilities or another comparable regulated industry.
  • Sound understanding of the electricity industry, transmission connections, renewable energy and Renewable Energy Zones (REZs).
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives, customers and Board-level stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, law, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Lead meaningful change

This role offers the opportunity to influence customer experience at an enterprise level while contributing to the transformation of Australia's electricity transmission network.

You will have the opportunity to shape strategy, influence culture, lead a high-performing team and work directly with customers and senior stakeholders on some of the most significant connection and energy-transition challenges facing the sector.

Prioritising safety above all, the company emphasises making a meaningful impact through achievement, upholding honesty through integrity, and delivering exceptional outcomes for customers and communities through dedicated service. About Transgrid

We’ve ensured the smooth operation of over 11,517 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 136 substations and switching stations across NSW and the ACT, with interconnections to QLD and VIC.

Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation.

We’re making the right decisions now to prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead – a changing climate, population growth and technology innovation.

As we lead the way towards a more resilient future, we’re working closely with our customers and communities to make sure no one is left behind.

Wherever you are in NSW or the ACT, you can be confident in the reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity we transmit as we make a better power system for generations to come.
