Position Highlights:


St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services’ mission is to reduce the incidence and trauma of all crimes through person-centered emotional support, advocacy, medical and legal assistance, and community-based prevention efforts.

What you will do:

The Manager provides leadership and operational oversight for the Crisis Services Program, including its 24-hour hotline and response services for victims/survivors of crime, and short-term service components. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the program, high-quality and timely services to victims/survivors of crime, effective clinical supervision and development of staff, regulatory and grant compliance, and strong coordination with internal and external partners.

Additionally, the Manager is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of a Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) designed to expand access to coordinated counseling, therapy, case management, and legal advocacy services for survivors of violent crime. The Manager will provide clinical and project leadership for the TRC build-out, helping translate program goals into operational workflows, policies, staffing structures, partnerships, and sustainable service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall operational leadership and oversight of the Crisis Services Program, ensuring consistent, timely, trauma-responsive, victim-centered services.
  • Oversees all aspects of Crisis Services’ crisis and short-term services, including crisis intervention, 24-hour response to victims/survivors of crime, accompaniment, short-term counseling, domestic violence risk assessment, safety planning, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, OVS compensation assistance, information and referrals, and mass fatality event response.
  • Works closely with the Coordinator of Crisis Services and program staff to ensure effective day-to-day operations, appropriate staffing and coverage, timely resolution of service-delivery issues, and adherence to program standards
  • Collaborates with program staff, the Coordinator of Crisis Services, and internal and external partners to ensure timely, coordinated services to victims/survivors of crime.
  • Facilitates program huddles, internal staff meetings, and other operational meetings, ensuring appropriate follow-up on identified action items.
  • Participates in the Supervisor On-Call rotation with other program leaders, supporting crisis-based client services via telephone and/or in the Emergency Department and assisting with navigation of critical issues as they arise.
  • Provides direct supervision of the Coordinator of Crisis Services and designated Crisis Services staff responsible for providing acute and short-term services to victims/survivors of crime.
  • Provides project management and operational leadership for the development and implementation of the Trauma Recovery Center within Crime Victim Services.
  • Works collaboratively with department leadership, clinical staff, grants staff, healthcare partners, legal partners, and community organizations to establish the infrastructure necessary for successful TRC implementation.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive TRC implementation plan that identifies key activities, responsibilities, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.

What You Will Need:

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work required.
  • LCSW Required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory and/or leadership experience is required, with at least 4 years of direct service experience to victims/survivors of violence.
  • An understanding and sensitivity to the complex needs of victims/survivors of crime is required.
  • New York State Department of Health Rape Crisis Counselor certification is required. Note – the program will provide this training and certification if needed.
  • Familiarity with the Criminal Justice and Family Court Systems is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the New York State victim assistance community and funding is preferred.


Pay Range: $41.45 - $59.75

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
