Manager, Credit RiskManager, Credit Risk

The Manager, Credit Risk Oversight (Brazil) supports the Vice President Credit Risk in providing independent Second Line of Defense oversight of credit risk across the Brazil portfolio. The role is responsible for day-to-day oversight activities, analysis, and challenge across credit risk frameworks, risk rating processes, portfolio monitoring, and first line credit risk controls. The role contributes to regulatory engagement, governance forums, and ongoing enhancement of Brazil credit risk standards.

Role:

Credit Risk Oversight & Challenge
• Perform Second Line oversight of credit risk activities executed by the First Line of Defense and as established by MA in accordance with Regulation 522
• Review credit proposals, portfolio metrics, and risk reports to ensure alignment with local and global credit risk policy and risk appetite
• Provide effective challenge on underwriting decisions, risk assessments, and control effectiveness
• Support escalation of material issues, breaches, or emerging risks to the Vice President, Credit Risk
Risk Rating Framework & Methodology Support
• Support oversight of the Brazil Credit Risk Assessment Framework, including methodology application and controls
• Review risk rating outcomes, overrides, and undertake back-testing to adhere to the credit risk standards
• Conduct semi-annual adequacy test of the Credit Risk Framework, in line with MA Brazil Credit Policy and Central Bank expectations
• Contribute to stress testing, expected loss analysis, and performance monitoring activities
• Support documentation and maintenance of local rating standards and procedures
Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Appetite
• Monitor portfolio performance, concentrations, and key risk indicators against approved thresholds
• Identify and analyze emerging risk themes or adverse trends within the Brazil portfolio
• Prepare portfolio risk commentary and materials for Brazil Risk Committee and other relevant governance forums
Regulatory & Governance Support
• Support engagement with regulators, internal audit, and compliance reviews as required
• Prepare materials and responses for regulatory reviews, examinations, and risk committee presentations
• Ensure governance documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained in line with standards
Collaboration & Development
• Work closely with first line, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Regulatory colleagues to support effective risk management
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements of credit risk frameworks, tools, and reporting
• Support development of junior team members where applicable
Decision Making Authority
• Authority to review and challenge first line credit risk decisions and ratings
• Recommend approval or escalation of policy exceptions and risk appetite breaches
• Input into governance decisions and risk committee materials

All About You:

• Strong technical knowledge of credit risk principles and frameworks
• Working knowledge of Expected Loss concepts including PD, LGD, and EAD
• Analytical capability to interpret portfolio data, stress tests, and risk metrics
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• 5–8 years’ experience in Credit Risk, Risk Management, or related discipline
• Experience supporting risk governance, portfolio monitoring, or risk rating activities
• Exposure to regulated financial services environments preferred

Education & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Relevant certifications (CFA, FRM, etc.)
