The Manager – Global Credit & Collections is responsible for leading the company's global credit risk and collections function across AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions. This role oversees credit evaluation, collections strategy, cash flow optimization, risk mitigation, and team performance while ensuring alignment with company objectives. The individual will partner closely with Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to balance revenue growth with prudent credit risk management.
Responsibilities
Credit Risk Management
Lead the review, approval, and monitoring of customer credit requests across global regions
Establish and maintain credit policies, procedures, and approval frameworks
Evaluate customer financial health, creditworthiness, and risk exposure
Recommend credit limits, payment terms, and risk mitigation measures
Monitor credit portfolios and identify emerging risks
Global Collections Leadership
Develop and execute collection strategies to maximize cash flow and reduce delinquency
Drive reduction of DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and overdue receivables
Oversee collection activities across AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions
Escalate high-risk accounts and develop recovery plans
Ensure compliance with local regulations and business practices in each region
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a global team of credit and collections professionals
Set performance goals and establish accountability measures
Conduct regular performance reviews and career development discussions
Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture
Stakeholder Management
Partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, Customer Success, and Operations teams
Support contract negotiations related to payment terms and credit risk
Provide recommendations to senior leadership regarding risk exposure and collection performance
Act as an escalation point for complex customer situations
Reporting & Analytics
Review and monitor KPIs including:
DSO
Collection Effectiveness Index
Aging performance
Bad debt exposure
Cash collections performance
Prepare executive-level reporting and business reviews
Drive process improvements through data analysis and automation initiatives
Process Improvement & Controls
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability
Implement best practices in credit risk assessment and collections management
Support ERP and collections tool optimization initiatives
Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
MBA or credit certification is a bonus
Experience
8 – 12+ years of experience in Credit, Collections, Accounts Receivable, or Order-to-Cash functions
3 – 5+ years of people management experience
Experience managing global teams across multiple regions
Experience working in multinational or shared services environments
Skills
Strong credit risk assessment expertise
Advanced collections and receivables management knowledge
Excellent leadership and people management skills
Strong analytical and financial acumen
Ability to influence senior stakeholders
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce or similar platforms
Advanced Excel & Power BI reporting capabilities
