Job Description

Voyager (94001), India, Bangalore, Karnātaka

Manager, Corporate Communications

At Capital One, we think big and do bigger things. We were the first company to develop and offer mass customization and personalization of credit card, auto loans and other financial services products, and we have been innovating relentlessly ever since.

Today, we are a progressive financial services powerhouse spanning Credit Cards, Auto Loans, Savings, and Commercial Banking and at the same time a high-tech company, a scientific laboratory, and a well-recognized brand all in one. We are a passionate and entrepreneurial team with heart – a team that embraces bold ideas, fosters collaboration, and delivers world-class products and services impacting more than 100 million customers. Still founder-led by Chairman and CEO Richard Fairbank, we dare to dream, disrupt and deliver a better way for our customers, the financial industry and for each other. Our goal is simple – bring ingenuity, simplicity and humanity to an industry ripe for change.

At Capital One India, we solve fundamental business problems at scale using advanced analytics, data science and machine learning. We specialize in deriving valuable insights about various aspects of the business - including product and process design, consumer behavior, regulatory and credit risk, and much more - from large volumes of data to build cutting-edge patentable products at an industrial scale.

Capital One is looking for a Manager, PR and Tech Content. You will own how the Capital One brand shows up in India, both to the outside world and to our own workforce. You will play a crucial role in positioning Capital One as a top-tier tech hub, building an authentic talent brand that attracts great engineers and data scientists, and in keeping our local teams informed, connected, and motivated.

Responsibilities

External PR, Tech Content & Events

  • PR & Media Relations: Tell clear, compelling stories in Indian business, tech, and mainstream media to build Capital One’s reputation as a tech powerhouse.
  • Tech Content Development: Partner with enterprise Brand and Talent Marketing teams to develop content that raises awareness of Capital One and builds our reputation as a tech leader and tech employer of choice in India.
  • Events & Tech Sponsorships: Run end-to-end planning and execution for tech conferences, hackathons, and industry events to bring our brand to life in developer communities.
  • Agency & Spokesperson Prep: Manage PR and event agencies, draft and approve press releases, bylines, and prep senior leaders for media interviews, keynotes, and panel discussions.
  • Crisis Comms & Governance: Spot reputational risks early, handle crisis communications when needed, and make sure external messaging meets global brand and legal standards.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • An Autonomous Owner: Driven to proactively identify priorities, run with projects end-to-end, and close the loop on every detail without requiring hand-holding.
  • A Hands-On Doer: Ready to roll up their sleeves and execute high-impact work directly, thriving without reliance on a large support staff.
  • An Event Strategist: Proven in conceptualizing, planning, and executing high-profile tech events, hackathons, and industry sponsorships from idea to activation.
  • A Human-Centered Storyteller: Skilled at breaking down complex AI, software, and analytics concepts into clear, engaging stories that genuinely resonate.
  • A Strategic Media Thinker: Outfitted with a journalist’s mindset, instinctively knowing how to frame, angle, and pitch compelling news hooks.
  • A Trusted Executive Advisor: Confident working alongside VPs and Managing Directors, providing candid communications counsel, and building authentic leadership voices.
  • A High-Bar Agency Leader: Demanding excellence from PR, digital, and event agencies to ensure partners deliver measurable impact.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, English or Journalism
  • At Least 10 years of experience across PR, internal communications and talent branding within a Global Capability Center (GCC), tech company, PR agency (tech client experience) or global financial services firm.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, English or Journalism.
  • Proven portfolio of successful employer branding programs and campaigns.
  • Experience in developing and executing integrated communications strategies that drive business growth and brand reputation.
  • Understanding of media relations, thought leadership, and executive communications
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing channels, tools and techniques including solid hands-on experience with v-logs, blogs, events, and podcasts.
  • Experience in managing budgets, vendors and global communications compliance standards.
  • Strong team leadership and senior stakeholders management skills in a complex, matrixed, global organization.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and influencing skills.

We recognize that many life paths can contribute to interest in this role. We value all experience, whether gained in a classroom or through other paths, and invite everyone who meets the qualifications to apply for this role.
