As a key member of the Corporate Controller’s department, the Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the Corporate Accounting & Reporting team. The Manager will be responsible for APL’s Consolidated statements, overall month end close process, reporting to parent company and internal management reporting. This role is responsible for the preparation of financial materials for Board of Director meetings.

This teammate will be responsible for:

• Responsible for the overall month end close process while maintaining high standards and ensuring accurate, timely and reliable reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results and disclosures
• Provide on-going leadership and direction for the Corporate Accounting team of three including professional development, coaching, and daily oversight of activities
• Responsible for all Corporate accounting including consolidation of all legal entities
• Responsible for financial reporting to parent company
• Responsible for IFRS technical accounting issues
• Ensure internal control practices surrounding the financial reporting and close process are defined, implemented, and executed
• Manage annual budget and forecast process for Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
• Manage interim and annual audit requirements with external auditors
• Resource for accounting, internal control issues and implementation of improvements
• Resource for ERP updates, including development of requirements, and prioritization and testing of enhancements
• Special projects as required

The skills, knowledge and experience this teammate will bring:

• Hold a CPA, CA designation
• Experience preparing external financial statements and disclosures
• Experience with consolidations
• Proven leadership skills in achieving results
• Ability to work with a positive attitude and in a professional manner
• Enjoy working in a fast paced, changing environment
• Possess a strong attention to detail
• Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Experience in manufacturing preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Leadership:

Able to influence the actions and opinions of others in a desired direction; to exhibit judgment in leading others to worthwhile objectives. This role will interact with all functional departments at mid to senior levels.

This is an 18-month contract role with a compensation of $130,000 - $140,000 annually.

In-office expectations for this role will be approximately once per week in our Oakville and/or Grimsby office, depending on business needs.
