
What is the opportunity?
Drive critical business initiatives as Manager of Controls & Regulatory Initiatives in a high-visibility role overseeing Business Managed Applications, vendor partnerships, and enterprise compliance governance. Own application product strategy, lead risk governance assessments, and champion regulatory adherence across the organization. Success in this complex, multi-stakeholder environment demands strong relationship-building capabilities, soft skills, and the ability to engage and influence leaders across business units. This role combines strategic influence with operational execution; identifying compliance gaps, optimizing application adoption, and delivering actionable insights that strengthen control frameworks and reduce operational risk.
What will you do?
Build and maintain strong stakeholder and vendor relationships through transparent communication and collaboration
Challenge the status quo, navigate ambiguity, and drive strategic solutions independently
Leverage data analysis to provide insights and recommendations on moderately complex to complex business initiatives
Develop and manage application product roadmaps, prioritizing features aligned with business objectives and user needs
Lead internal risk governance initiatives including assessment, monitoring, and documentation of control frameworks
Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to identify governance gaps and implement enhanced oversight mechanisms
Make recommendations on new processes, tools, and services with cross-functional impact
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies through rigorous governance execution
What do you need to succeed?
Must haves:
Strong knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks, governance structures, and compliance oversight within financial institutions
University degree or diploma (or certification) in business management
At least 2 years of related experience managing a business application or vendor relationship
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
Product Owner, project manager, or change management mindset and capabilities
Nice-to-have:
Understanding of existing internal RBC Investor Services systems and processes
Proficient technical skills in Python or Power BI
Knowledge and experience working with AI-enabled tools
Demonstrated experience with enterprise-wide stakeholder influence and persuasion

Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
