Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Manager of Sourcing is responsible for overseeing the sourcing and contract administration of medical supplies, equipment and purchase services for supply chain operations at Eskenazi Health. This role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials. The Manager of Sourcing will work closely with the sourcing specialist, contracts coordinator, legal, clinical, operational and administration departments to align sourcing activities to meet the organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health Mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County.
  • Maintain strategic sourcing policies to comply with federal requirements, governing laws of Indiana and legal standards.
  • Lead, create and implement sourcing strategies to meet organizational goals and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Analyze and report sourcing metrics to identify compliance, operational excellence and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with legal, clinical and administrative teams to understand operational requirements for timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers through RFx bid and selection process.
  • Monitor market trends and conditions to ensure quality benchmarking analysis and competitive pricing.
  • Manage the sourcing process, including contract, purchase orders, receipts, and payment of invoices to complete 4-way match of procure to pay cycle.
  • Facilitate quality improvement projects related to legal, sourcing, contracts administration and procurement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years sourcing experience in supply chain with 2 years leadership responsibility accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with RFx, public bids, grants and AIA construction procedures.
  • Understanding of procurement and sourcing principles.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Preferred experience with the Supplier Diversity, Joint Commission, HRSA, AIA Standards, SAP Ariba, SAP Fiori, Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI), Vizient Group Purchasing Organization, Global Health Exchange (GHX), Power BI and UKG Kronos.
