Summary
The Manager, Contracting and Pricing Operations is responsible for managing the organization's contract administration, pricing operations, customer definitions, and compliance reporting activities. This role supports the execution of contracting and pricing initiatives that align with business objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations. The Manager serves as a key business partner to the Sales organization by providing pricing analysis, contract guidance, customer support, and operational expertise. This position oversees customer contracting activities, bid responses, customer pricing administration, and regulatory reporting requirements, including Open Payments (Sunshine Act) reporting and applicable state transparency reporting. The position also supervises contract operations personnel and works closely with Sales, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure effective contract management and pricing administration.
Essential Functions, Duties, and ResponsibilitiesContract Administration and Pricing Operations
- Manage day-to-day contract administration and pricing activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of customer pricing programs and contract terms.
- Review and analyze pricing requests, customer agreements, and contract-related opportunities to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain customer definitions, pricing structures, and contract records within applicable systems.
- Provide guidance and support to the Sales organization regarding pricing policies, contract requirements, and customer agreements.
- Monitor contract compliance and assist in resolving contract-related issues.
Contract Management
- Coordinate the preparation, review, execution, and administration of customer contracts and amendments.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding contract administration and pricing matters.
- Support contract negotiations by providing pricing analyses, contract recommendations, and administrative support.
- Review business and financial terms to ensure consistency with company objectives and policies.
- Maintain contract documentation, historical records, and customer agreements.
- Track contract renewal opportunities and support proactive contract management efforts.
RFP and Bid Administration
- Manage the preparation and submission of customer bids, proposals, and RFP responses.
- Ensure bid submissions are completed accurately, competitively, and within established deadlines.
- Coordinate cross-functional input required for proposal and bid completion.
- Maintain records of bid activity, proposal submissions, and contract awards.
- Monitor contract performance requirements and support follow-up activities as needed
Analytics and Reporting
- Prepare and analyze reports related to pricing, contract activity, sales administration, and customer performance.
- Identify trends and provide recommendations to support pricing and contracting decisions.
- Compile and maintain metrics related to contract utilization, pricing effectiveness, and operational performance.
- Support management reporting through data analysis and business insights.
- Oversee the final review and processing of no-charge requests and related documentation.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting
- Maintain working knowledge of the AdvaMed Code of Ethics and applicable healthcare industry regulations.
- Coordinate annual Open Payments (Sunshine Act) reporting activities and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
- Support compliance with state transparency reporting requirements.
- Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure contracting and pricing activities adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation and reporting records to support audits and compliance reviews.
Leadership and Team Management
- Manage, coach, and develop direct reports, including the Contract Operations Supervisor.
- Establish goals and performance expectations for assigned staff.
- Support employee development through coaching, feedback, and training opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused team environment.
- Promote operational efficiency and continuous process improvement within the department.
QualificationsEducation & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA or MHA) preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in the medical device, healthcare, contracting, pricing, or account management field.
- Experience with healthcare contracting, GPOs, IDNs, and customer agreements preferred.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Experience supporting contract negotiations, pricing administration, and customer-facing business processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
