The Manager, Congress Operations & Events Excellence is responsible for leading the operational execution of MCE (meeting, congress, events). This role serves as the bridge between strategic direction and execution, ensuring consistent delivery of customer-facing meetings, congresses, and events while maintaining compliance, financial stewardship, operational excellence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
The Manager will partner closely with departments across Sandoz and external vendors to ensure execution of events that support Sandoz business objectives.

Major Accountabilities

Meeting, Congress & Event Operations

  • Monitor planning timelines, event milestones, and operational readiness for all events
  • Provide on-site support for top customer engagement congresses throughout the US
  • Reinforce standardized operating procedures to drive consistency and excellence
  • Oversee a team of Meeting, Congress & Event professionals, providing coaching and training
  • Ensure meetings and events are executed in accordance with company policies, industry regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Procurement teams to maintain adherence to policies
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor event budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and expense reconciliation

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external event partners
  • Manage vendor partnerships and ensure service levels are achieved
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align event execution with business objectives
  • Support implementation of technology solutions, reporting tools, and best practices
  • Drive adoption of standardized processes

  • Timeliness and accuracy of event planning deliverables

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in meeting planning, congress management, event operations, commercial operations, or related functions
  • Minimum 1 year of people management experience
  • Strong project management and operational excellence experience
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships and complex event logistics
  • Experience overseeing budgets, reporting, and financial management activities
  • U.S. pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry experience required
  • Experience supporting customer-facing commercial organizations preferred
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical compliance and meeting governance
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, reporting tools, and event management platforms

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel throughout the United States is required
  • Estimated travel: 20-25%, depending on business needs and event schedule
