Your place in our story

Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting, the Manager, Complex Accounting is responsible for reviewing and analyzing complex financial transactions and accounting issues, including preparing technical memos. You’ll lead research, analysis, and implementation of new accounting standards and related disclosures while serving as a technical advisor across the finance team.

Here’s how you’ll contribute

  • Manage planning, process, and review of complex financial transactions and accounting issues
  • Proactively implement new accounting standards
  • Act as an internal technical advisor, providing guidance to business units and finance teams
  • Identify accounting issues and recommend process improvements
  • Coordinate audits with external auditors for various entities
  • Build strong relationships across business units and finance peers
  • Lead change initiatives and support process automation for reporting
  • Provide leadership to the team to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports
  • Prioritize effectively to meet internal and external deadlines

What you bring to the team

  • CPA designation required
  • 7+ years of progressive technical accounting experience involving IFRS/ASPE
  • Experience in public practice and/or real estate is an asset
  • Previous experience leading a team of finance professionals
  • Strong ability to analyze complex issues and recommend solutions
  • Proficiency in IFRS and ASPE with demonstrated technical application
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (NewStar, Yardi) and consolidation tools (OneStream an asset)

Hiring pay range rate: $120,000 - $140,000
